Oh sure, so I guess next we will be taking away character water walking, slow fall, etc and re-earning them each expac.
Does anyone think this is not at least a possibility in the near future?

Yes, this is correct. They changed it to unique equip. You will have to become creative if you want more than one. You will also have to buy them one at a time to send to alts.
Which is increasing the “time played” metric. Gosh, always trust Blizzard for stuff like this
Not talking to you dude.
They might has well, they are nerfing slowfall in 8.2. Once, they take it it’s pretty much gone.
Let’s hope so! It’ll make the forums funnier.
I haven’t read too much into everything yet but maybe someone knows… I get the whole water strider changes but what about other mounts like the sea turtle from fishing in Northrend that has increased swim speed? Will that change too?
On the PTR, all of the current swimming mounts (sea turtle, skates, seahorses, etc.) are excluded from using the mount equipment system. So unless they change that, those mounts will just be swimmers and not get the mount equipment perks.
Character specific, mount-wide?
Nah.
Should be mount-specific, account-wide.
All of the previous removal of then recycling of traits, gear, etc. has been free if you simply played through the expansion. This is a removal that has a price tag attached to regain what is being removed (free account-wide mount trait).
The price is not important.
We can just agree to wait and see, I will be hitting the market pretty hardcore so I’ll know after a few weeks if its a short or long term play. My expectation is big revenue early then steady from there out - like gems used to be when everyone had guaranteed gem slots.
I already know that consumables is a crap market, it has been all of BfA, so I don’t see that changing much at all. So the only real question is: is the current consumable market crap indicating the entire market is crap, or just that people can’t be bothered to stock consumables?
One fact though: that water walking must be mount equip is better for markets than having a non-market based strider have it built-in. There is no arguing that.
But STILL lets take a moment to consider: this is what is happening. So speculating on “what if” they fix the strider is just speculation. The fact is mount equip is coming, stider is losing it’s built in ww, and the playerbase and market will adjust to that.
See you want Mount Equipment because it may bring you renevue.
Things I really want is:
Look man, you need to read what I post if you reply to it.
Pure and simple, I like this change.
And you can do that now.
That’s fine, you may like your change, but stop trying to force people to like this change too.
WW ME isn’t better for the markets though. It isn’t even good for the game.
See, Mount Equipment, it is brining nothing to the game. And in future, it can actually take our more from the game than anytrhing.
Oh I have no illusion you will like it - so you are wrong I’m trying to force anything.
I support my position, which you want to attack, but it won’t work - I’m right about my liking this change (and you are right about your hating it).
I disagree about what is “good for the game.” I will always stand behind stuff that involves player-to-player (aka buy and selling of stuff).
Sadly the consumable market is a dud - people just don’t do that very much, they barely manage flasks and those are super high value for end game content. Water walking potions have been part of the game for 14 years, and have never, ever been a good market. People clearly just don’t like to bother, this is fact, not opinion.
On the other hand, things that are more permanent do retain markets. The average person is going to apply 1 mount equip and never change it - it will act like gems, not potions. And I will make some gold off new players or people who didn’t bother with the strider process.
Play on the PTR then tell me that the average person is going to only use Mount Equipment.
People who are on PTR now are not typical players, by definition, they are early-adopters/beta testers/curious. That’s not the average player.
Hey Kiwi, according to this logic here, you’re not a typical WoW player as well.
Ugh, how much more wrong can you really get Fixi.
I hope that the constant replies here are satisfying you, the entire thread is your displeasure of the upcoming change that will happen… I get it, vending can be useful. Hopefully you get some peace to it, it’s coming, like it or not - best to adapt because it’s not changing.
If I’m right or not wont will be decided by how it goes, your opinion isn’t predictive because I don’t think your logic is sound. You feel the same about me, that’s fine. Guess what - one of us will be right a few weeks after 8.2. We can talk again then. I’d be happy to say I was wrong if I’m wrong, but will you be willing to do the same?
And then watch me hit that unsubscribe button.
The Mount Equipment isn’t adding anything into the game, as I said, and it is also looking for more excuses for removing more things from the game.
You see, at first, I would’ve had no issues with the ME System if they just left our water striders alone. But no, you had to come into here…
Seriously Fixi, ENOUGH!
Go ahead and unsub, that’s your choice! There will not be a mass exodus because a 2013 mount is losing something unique while all mounts are gaining. Not a chance.
I’m never going to stop, so stop replying. You can’t bully me, I’m too old for that and way too wise to buy your logic. Now you throw out the “I’m unsubbing” and that really showcases your logic here. You aren’t gonna unsub, and they aren’t going to fix strider, be real here.
You will adapt, that’s the truth. And you know that to be true too, you really do
