8.2 Mount Equipment and Water Strider

Sorry if you are insulted, but think of me like Blizz Activision. You are complaining to me about something you do not like me doing, and I simply ignore your feelings, because they don’t matter to anyone but you.

In this case, you can complain until your elf turns blue in the face and become a void elf, but the reality is that this change is happening, and all the tears you shed over it will not change that. So just accept it. If that’s an insult, then it’s an insult.

I don’t know how you got to where you did with your post. I’ve already stated my intention to just equip the shoes and ignore the rest of the system solely to retain the cohesion of the Water Strider. I’ve never even implied that my enjoyment of WoW would be impacted to the level you are projecting.

My actual gameplay will not be changing one iota when this system is implemented.

My role, as I see it, as an inhabitant of this virtual worldscape, is to speak out when Blizzard intends to damage the integrity of it. No more, no less. I’ve played continuously since the end of Classic and until a world that fits me better rolls into town I have no intentions of leaving.

However, it is clear that your intention is sincere, so I thank you for sharing your perspective. After reading your list, we clearly have more in common regarding the game, than the opposite. Thank you for the conversation.

Hmm,this is very interesting reading.

The difference to me is that most of the problems with BFA are “BIG” problems with massive huge ugly effort necessary to fix them. Bad Balance issues with affixes, the design of the Azerite system, the near total homogenization of repeatable content.

And, my chief gripe: PvE world content isn’t at all fun when you notice that you’re spending 2/3rds of your time unable to do anything because you’re stuck on a flightpath. Maybe flying and the next two zones will help… I’m not holding my breath.

And don’t get me started on portals. The new room is useful, but there was no need to remove all the old portals.

But this issue? This one was supposed to be trivial.

I’ve done software development, and even though WoW may be a prime example of ‘lava flow code’ … fixing this problem should have been beyond trivial. Just add a simple equipment check to [Summon Random Favorite Mount] and flag the striders the same way the 2 herbers and various underwater mounts are.

I have to disagree with you. By giving feedback you let the game maker know that they have customers who are dissatisfied with the decisions they are making.

Only 4% of unhappy customers actually complain. 96% will say nothing and will simply move on to another business if the issues are not resolved.

the 4% who do complain do so because they are extremely loyal to the business and they want the company to be successful. Some of the 96% may be loyal, however, not loyal enough to stay when things get rough.

This is why FFXIV is so active right now. They have been able to woo a ton of wow players because of the dissatisfaction with this game.

The real danger Blizzard faces is the fact that FFXIV is coming out with a new Xpac in a couple of weeks. If Blizzard does not act with new content before that Xpac comes out, they risk losing many of that 96% for a very long time. Especially if the new FFXIV xpac is impressive.

I worked for a company that lost 4.55 billion transactions per year for several years because they did not listen to their dissatisfied customers. It wasn’t until the stock price hit rock bottom for the company to wake up and start making changes.

They changed to a Customer Centric business and it saved the business.

I recognize that the change is going to happen, however, I am letting blizzard know about my dissatisfaction with that change. It’s not “crying” and I am not shedding tears.

And your insult was not towards me it was towards another person. We can have a mature discussion about this topic without people insulting each other because they don’t agree.

If you said it once, I agree, you are giving feedback. You have given the same feedback multiple times on multiple threads. Repeatedly. You have argued with people with different feedback. You are beyond giving feedback. You are “crying” at this point. That’s how far removed you are from saying one time “I don’t like this.”

You cannot influence change by remaining silent.

You’re Algalon-Reorigination Processed Right I’m arguing about the name.

The pedantic nerd in me still rages that blizzard created Manticore mounts … AND CALLED THEM WYVERNS.

OMG RAAAAGE RAGE RAGE.

/me tiny green veins pop out on Jops’ head and pulse as gouts of steam billow from his ears.

And you cannot argue that you are giving feedback if you are someone that tells people with opinions different than yours that they are wrong and you are right. You also come off not just as a cry baby, but sort of delusional because you also lecture the company on how they are “doing it wrong”. I mean, come on, get over yourself, man.

You’re not influencing anything, my keyboard warrior, but keep fighting the good fight, even if it looks silly out here looking in at you. Influence the hell out of’em!

I would suggest reading the other thread that was locked for 3 days.Be ware of trolls bearing gifts.

The only gift this troll brings is a heaping totem of reality. Also which thread? I get banned often so I am not sure, unless you mean the original one of these strider threads with the exact same folks and arguments in it?

it’s locked again.

Oh yeah, that’s where me and Jops became besties. I wonder where Brahmina and Moonstriken are?

Yup,some don’t want water striding for their own reasons, which is fine ,but with a twist.
They’re still here roaming around.

Those who are trying to reason here, simply cannot get through to people who either do not read, with understanding, enough to "get " that they can have what they want AND the strider owners can also, get what they want AT THE SAME TIME, or they simply do not care.

They are on the hunt to aggro other players for sport. This is fun for them. If this was not the case, they would realize that getting what the water strider owners want does not have to stop them from getting what they want as well.

Most of them already know this. They have simply come to realize that this is really important to some players, so the sport becomes luring them into meaningless circular discussions, while they actually enjoy the fact that someone else is going to lose something that they do not have, or want.

These are not the forums of old and trolls come in a variety of types these days. Some people love nothing more than to dig at another player just for the fun of it.

Sounds pretty negative doesn’t it and that is not usually where I come from, but if this is still being contested after all of the people who have explained it, there is simply no other explanation that makes sense.

Thank you Blizzard for giving players another excuse to divide the community, since you have dropped the ball on doing almost anything to actually help to bring players together. It seems that is not the “job” of the game developers anymore.

Really Sad and it bodes badly for the future of the game.
But don’t worry about me, Blizz. I am just another of those long time players who is barely hanging on by my fingernails these days and not feeling the love from the developers, or much of the community any more.

Of course, this does not apply to everyone. Those, to whom it does, know who you are.

Put on the water walking mount equipment, continue to enjoy your strider, you get it for free too. Your happiness is 100% in your own hands here, nothing is being taken away from you.

I’d be totally cool with disabling equipment on the stider and letting it have ww. I’m not trying to argue you have to see it my way, I’m pointing out that one of the things Bliz wanted to “correct” was extreme overuse of the mount. This is the way they ensure that happens (nobody gets to use a diff mount equipment on other mounts and keep the strider just for water walking - you have to choose one thing).

But honestly, you didn’t lose anything, you just didn’t gain what you wanted to gain. That’s all.

What is this “logic” that you speak of? You do not belong here! Ban him! Ban the witch!

Except the signature ability of the mount.

Close enough. Sheesh. lol

The big thing I am concerned with is when the devs take it away next xpac and time gate it with flying.
