Interesting, thanks. For cloth drops, I dunno, I’ve got quite a bit over BfA, primarily by scrapping WQ cloth drops. Well, had quite a bit…spent a bunch on those timey-wimey patterns from the Synchronous vendor.
I guess it’s a lucky thing that I have no interesting in trying to move the immovable object that is your Strider Zeal.
I don’t know. I just don’t see any harm in letting the Strider be. Not everyone was late to the party like you and knocked it out in a day, and not everyone enjoys accomplishing things while leveling like me.
Let those who feel they “ground” it out when it was current content because they felt pressured to have an “advantage” keep what they earned.
Let those who do not like the disruption of the integrity of the world, keep this small portion untouched.
I just see it as a win/win move for Blizzard. After these threads go away, if Blizzard allows the Strider to be exempt from the new system, can you honestly see a thread being created complaining about the Strider when Yaks can cross the bay?
Here is my take on the changes. Next xpac we are going to see some serious profession reworks (a giant complaint right now is professions are bleh, see it on the forums and on streams and this has been an ongoing problem for a few xpacs now). These reworks are probably going to eliminate some of the older xpac professions making the quests to get the mount a not doable thing. At this point Blizz has 2 options. 1. Improve professions and make it so you can just buy the strider in which case everyone will have one anyway or 2. Improve professions and eliminate the strider’s effect which will force you to purchase or make the gear…good for professions. If there is method to the madness I do not mind the change but if it is change for the sake of changing then that sucks…too many times this game changes for the sake of changing and I am getting sick of having to change for the game that changes simple to change for a change in a game that costs change.
Why would I bother? I already paid the hard tedious price for them back when that was the ONLY way to acquire the special mounts.
Why would anyone else bother? Just wait a few weeks and just buy one for 5k gold off the AH. Cheap at twice the price compared to running however many timewalkers are necessary for rep tokens.
All of which is entirely irrelevant because who’s going to want water walking on all their mounts if they can have a 20% speed buff instead?
“Male Human Paladins” probably, and almost no one else.
Do you realize how utterly childish and controlling you sound? YOU don’t want to see the mount so YOU don’t care if it gets broken. That’s a fabulous way to play this game. Stop caring about what other people are using. Don’t use the mount yourself if you hate it so much. Problem. Solved.
Thank you, however, I did not feel pressured to grind for the mount and I never once thought I had an advantage over other people.
I did the work because I liked how it looked and the fact that it allowed me to explore the world from the sea. I loved riding around the continents visiting places that were not accessible by land (there are quite a few).
Also, as far as advantage goes, everyone has an equal advantage. Back in MOP and WOD, they could earn the mounts if they put the effort into it. Current players could farm Timewalking dungeons for tokens to buy the mount (and it doesn’t take much time to do).
So the argument that it is “overpowered” is a fallacy simply because anyone could get the mount if they wanted to get the mount.
I’m going to assume that this is intended to be sarcasm since timewalking was added in patch 6.2 (WOD).
In the interest of fairness, I sincerely hope they eventually strip away the special abilities of all mounts:
Mammoth – no more vendors
Yaks - no more vendors or transmog NPCs
Brutosaurs - no more vendors or AH access
Sky Golem & Lumber Extractor - no more herbing
All the underwater mounts (Sea Ray, Skate, Seahorse, etc.)
By logical extension, those mounts are OP as heck, so they should just get rid of them, and players who have them and protest? Well, boo hoo and too bad. Just like they’re doing with the striders.
(put’s out bagels and juice for all the people still fighting the good fight) The water strider should be made exempt. Blizzard needs to accept what they did when they made it and quit trying to steal it back.
Also people worked really hard for their transmog sets. How would they like it if blizzard suddenly ripped that away and replaced it with a convoluted expac system where you can have all the transmogs but you can only have one expac open at a time.
That is a really good example here. Thank god though something like this would never happen, but the nerfing of the Water Strider is something that should never happen as well.
That thought came to me shortly after hearing about it. Then I began to wonder if water walking, levitation and a few other things were going to be next.
Any mount that does anything besides standard ground travel needs to be nerfed.
If they’re doing it to the striders, they need to do it to all the rest.
Without applying equipment, no more mounted herbing, no repair, no vendor, no transmog, no AH, no underwater travel – nothing. Even no flying without mount equipment.
You don’t play WoW as much as I do then, cuz water strider is seen 10000x more often than every other mount you listed, combined.
Repair mounts - nobody uses them as mounts (even Bliz said so, and that was a reason they didn’t nerf it).
Druids get smoked in the new system, I feel bad for them.
Sky Golem needs to be killed - and fast - I am really tired of still running content from 3 xpacs ago because it’s too valuable (I sell 2-3 golems a week) - I am still farming Halfhill, for years now - make it stop, make the new stuff more valuable! If they don’t add a mount equip for herbing, I’m going to be upset.
This upcoming change will be the first time in 6 years I use a new mount, I’m excited! To prepare I just visited some rep vendors (since I’ve been exalted on all since 8.0) and bought some 10k mounts. Looking forward to when they can replace my strider.
Well, yes, it is only my speculation at the moment. But go and look at Blizzards history, and you can see that it is possible that Blizzard could remove a lot more to push people to using the mount equipment.
And nobody is yet, forcing anyone to use the Water Strider to walk on water. Heck, there is so many different things that are already in game where anyone can use any of there mounts on Water.
But I maybe wrong with Blizzard removing more things in the future.
I think one of the problems is that many of us agreed that we literally don’t trust Blizzard not to rip this equipment away at a later date. That concern IS something that Blizzard needs to respond to in a clear manor.
