7 Months from Community Council...Did it miss the mark?

Good to know you admit its just an unimportant discussion then, lol.
You are soo far the only one that still complains about it in all possible threads meanwhile the spec already managed to be meta.
All you say about survival can be summarized to “haters gonna gate.” aka, useless feedback.

Yes, this is a big problem with the CC board

Superficial/trivial stuff like transmog or the (now infamous) TBC chicken toy are not really “core” issues that actually cause players to quit/unsub… talk about missing the forest for the trees

I don’t think focusing on M+, Raid, PvP should be the focus, it’s important but there’s multiple topics like casual content, so I’m fine with some post, Blizzard miss the mark with Holidays events for example but if someone from CC post a thread about that maybe some players will be like this topic doesn’t matter…etc when Holidays could provide World quest around the whole World not just the current expansion, New Lore Questlines, Tmog changes, PvP brawls with holidays powers, solo challenges like mage tower…etc

My problem with CC as a tool is not with CC members post but the lack of response from Devs, for example I consider BMAH revamp a valid point, not a priority but a reward Dev like Chimes that responded to Love rocket issues could mention changes to that.

The lack of casual gear progression, the draconian M+ system, and the difficulty of end-game content is what makes player leave.

Guess how many CC members actually talked about those topics? 2…and the one they banned lol.

“To them”.

It was never about you but the community, everyone else. You represent us, not yourself.
This is the biggest misconception people have on the CC. It’s about and for the players.

We need more players like him. And even then, you people do not even quote or link the good postings because you simply do not care, I guess.

You forgot “lack of things to do at max level”, aka excessively long content droughts

The Community council was just another PR trick to get people to think that Blizzard actually wants to listen.

I frankly don’t even know what the CC even does.

Plain and simple.

Blizzard: Hey, maybe we can elect random people to give us feedback we already ignore!

This is never a good argument to keep something around that is mostly ineffective.

The League Of Nations didn’t hurt anything, but it didn’t really help either.

The Articles of Confederation didn’t really hurt anything, but it didn’t help anything either.

When something isn’t working as advertised (despite HOW that malfunction is happening) you don’t keep it around, OR you invest time into it to make it better.

Blizzard hasn’t really committed either way.

Here I will disagree. Letholas tries, at least. How effective any of that is remains to be seen, but trying is still better than doing nothing which is what we are getting from a vast majority of the people on the CC right now.

Unless there is some backroom channel they are all talking in (which I was led to believe was NOT going to be a thing, it was all going to be in the open and transparent), then we have a bunch of people with a title that aren’t performing the function for which they were chosen.

I had that happen too for saying I ignore most posters with colorations of text not of the normal variety. Not an attack on any particular person but pretty much “I see (Text hue redacted) I ignore”

You are not allowed to question them apparently, the iron fist of blizzard will not allow dissent. Another reason I don’t like the CC is related to this, you better be careful how you talk about them, they’ll run to blizz and demand to speak to the manager.

Hmm, no, my post did not actually say that.

Don’t act like I’m the only one that ever complains about Survival being melee.

“Managing to be meta” means nothing. They gave it a short cooldown uncapped AoE in an expansion where they capped everyone else’s AoE, they buffed it several times this expansion, and when that still didn’t get people to play it they buffed the uncapped AoE by 80% via tier set. You can take any bad spec idea and buff it by an absurd amount to force people to play it. That doesn’t suddenly make it a good idea.

If there is no backroom channel, then why are there so many CCers and so little discussion?

We expect from the Council greatness. If they can’t keep up with bringing up content for our sake, then they need to step down and make room for new blood. This should not be a hidden privileged club, this is about us, the players.

An echo chamber is exactly what they want - they get to walk away telling everyone “we hear you” - I mean how many expansions in a row have they said that now? This time… this time it’ll be different (rolls eyes).

All communication between Blizzard and their customers are like that now - just a PR stunt (btw, fire Ion).

If we can’t also leave feedback on those forums, then at least allow us to dislike or like - but… oh that’d just make them not want to post because their regurgitated crap would be called out. So, echo-chamber is what they wanted and it’s what they got.

While I tend to agree their “we hear you! we’re listening” claim is just another canned BS line, they really can’t afford for Dragonflight to flop or end up being another Shadowlands

I think they feel a bit more, uhhh… “motivated” this time for that reason. Not because they genuinely “changed their ways” and want to finally listen to player feedback out of the goodness of their heart, but more because they feel “forced” to due to the slump the game is currently in/the massive unsubs incurred post-Shadowlands… if that makes sense

I don’t expect greatness, I do, however, expect participation at some level and we aren’t even getting THAT.

I want shams to get a 4th spec for tanks. That way they can mirror druids for talents just as how shams and druids go slightly together in the lore.

Honestly the people they chose to be on the CC are all those who see nothing wrong with the game who wouldn’t want change. Besides that they just did this as a publicity stunt, they have done this before so I knew it wasn’t gonna go anywhere. Can’t wait til the next iteration.

Only problem with your assumption is we have no idea if the next batch won’t just be more “yes-men” types :joy:

Oh that’s what i mean, they do the same thing, get the same type of people and everyone is like “OMG THEY ARE ACTUALLY LISTENING TO US!!! WOWEEEEE!!!” then they throw 200 bucks at their next xpac because they want a damned pet from a preorder rofl. I love this community /s
