For the record, I don’t give a hoot about this thread … but I wanted to chime in on this part:
I’m fairly sure the reason for this was a certain individual who used to do interviews with director of WoW who had a mop of fuzzy red hair labeling the player base as some colorful terms.
Interesting how we haven’t heard from him in awhile since then too.
Can you honestly blame them for being careful in what they post?
I’m pretty sure he interacts with streamers and other media. Lore is still very much involved. I’m pretty sure he helps set up those Dev Interviews, such as with Preach.
I didn’t say he’s not around, I said he’s not communicating with the public anywhere near as much as he used to since his choice in calling people some colorful names via Twitter.
The point was directed to the reason behind Blizz needing everything checked over before they speak.
TBH I just want more devs than just Klaivax posting on here. Even if its jokey little “We see you there being cheeky” posts. As the “hii here’s the new features for this patch byeee!!” posts done by him is obviously being forwarded by the other teams and feels like what ever people say (good or bad) gets ignored.
Did the other blizz CMs lose their forum passwords or something? Would love to see other ppl in other departments than PR actually talk to players.
To be very fair, there are some nuts in the world and Blizzard employees have absolutely required security details at their home. I don’t want to assume anything, but I think he was told to not post anymore. More than likely, it was a mutual decision. Having the entire community’s eyes on you is scary, and even scarier when those eyes are unfriendly.
Kaivax is not a Dev. The Devs don’t post on the forums at all anymore, or do so rarely it is kind of nuts.
Kaivax is a Community Manager. Their role is to be the front interface that collects feedback across platforms, publishes patch notes, news posts, promotions, handles influencers etc.
Devs do dev things and Blizz does not let them talk freely unless you can get one at Blizzcon to sit down and chat. Even then they are limited to what is publicly released.
I’m happy it’s up there for them to engage with and read and perhaps pick up feedback from. Perhaps the next expansion will be better in part because of the feedback and the community will be pleased.
Is Blizzard paying you to defend them or something? Chill.
Also, I don’t understand the idea behind the discord at all. If you council members want to engage with the rest of us… isn’t that what the General Discussion is for? Lol
