62 Threads 4 replies

62 Community Council threads made, 4 replies from Blizzard.

I’m shocked we got more than 2 really.

6.5% Engagement level. That’s disgusting.

Very poor effort by blizzard.

There are too many topics though. They need 1 thread for pvp, 1 for loot, 1 for pets and so on. Its just too many random ideas scattered, making it hard to keep up.

You folks realize the developers have actual work to do right?

The CC forums will not have developers reply to every thread and keep up conversations in every thread. That was never going to happen. Don’t set impossible expectations and then get pissed when the bar can’t be cleared because you set it to an unreachable height.

Im hoping/thinking they are letting the community offer up their ideas first and then will start responding. Maybe after the holidays. There should be a dedicated representative from the team to review and respond

That’s a terrible idea and stifles conversation far more than having multiple topics open, even before you’d consider topics that don’t fit neatly into one particular area, like the impact of boosting on the game as a whole.

it is shocking, since the general assumption is there would be no replies till after the holidays. people working over time perhaps?

When you have threads like " a 4th spec for shaman" I can see why they are not responding to them

except shaman tanks have been requested for a long time and would make sense

That is why people expect them to talk to us. Because they have a job to do.

I am not expecting much until after the Holidays really. Less than half the invites have gone out to players. Even then, I have no idea what pace to expect conversations to happen on.

This is pretty normal. Remember that they did not chime in a lot in the secret forums, supposedly. It was not like walking into the office and chatting over coffee every day.

They vetted the Council, its their own fault…

maybe I'm completely wrong but it comes off as WoW is decentralized. And as such few if none have the ability nor want to sacrifice their reputations to propose any decision as selectively his/her/theirs. Things just come together from independent departments or studios. even the director is just a raid expert not a why is my transmog disappeared expert.

can you imagine an assigned spokespersons answers be like:
I'll play devil's advocate:
  1. **Pvp spec = No, this game is a PvE game.
  2. **Toy restrictions = toys require restrictions for RPG reasons. why should a tailor have access to world shrinker.
  3. **Alts. = we insist you play your main. why should i let you undermine the grind? if i take it away, then you have no long term reason to play and quite possibly you do less end game.
  4. **Buff specific buffs = as shared raid effect would cause too much increase in power and would further require the raid to be buffed thereby requiring all raids to require the same meta buffs…did we learn nothing from classic.
  5. ** Dead server = player created problem. You have transfers
  6. ** Currencies = see #3.
  7. ** World pvp= we don’t interfere with that. if it’s broken turn off WM. we gave you an option.
  8. **More RP elements. = It’s never enough is it. We give you options yet you demand more and more.
  9. ** mage tower. = It’s a challenge. We want you to work hard to get it. Longitudinally, you will all get it. It’s static content. Get better.
  10. **Master loot = it works for one guild but not another. GMs can play favoritism. Guild participación will decline greatly.
  11. **Boosting = not against the rules. Next.
  12. ** Covenant improvements:. = We designed it already for the expressed purpose of player choice, RP, and a grind. Now you want it watered down to just a mission table because you cannot stand to spare any inconvenience. Sheldon Cooper sardonic amused.gif

Isn’t the CC forums their new “suggestions box,” contributions forum? I remember just before MoP they had an actual forum listing: “suggestions.”

This is probably a more positive and informative version of that. I plan to keep posting on on the GD just to voice my own thoughts and opinions.

You all should too!

me and thousands of others have been suggesting for years on here. yes, there are a lot of non sequitur and red herrings in GD, but they didn't need to look very far.

My point was that the suggestions box forum, (I forget the actual name) was up and running just after or just before either MoP or Cataclysm. I remember posting ideas about daemonhunters on there I think.

It was a long long time ago.

That’s why it’s so frustrating that things never get done when they need to.

Is Blizz allowed to think about what players have said and communicate amongst themselves about it or nah?
If nah, how long do you think they should have after a post is made before they are mandated by GD law to reply?

Have to agree with you. Quite honestly, 4th specs are more of a “Wish list”. I have plenty of “Wish list” stuff myself (specifically housing). I made a post last week, trying to point out "If you are going to start throwing out ‘Wish list’ stuff, you could at least throw out an example poll in your argument to see if it has backing on something players would be interested in.

I mean I have plenty of suggestions myself. I even know the “cons” of the suggestions: it’s what happens when you’ve spent years arguing with people on the forums. You already know the counterpoints.

I thought the point of this thing was to discuss current expac stuff or ways to improve certain aspects of things?
