60 ilvl of titanforging? Seriously?

I do accept everything you’re saying here. Those days were bad. I agree with that.

But the fix isn’t to screw up all gear progression in PvE so people can be competitive in PvP without raiding. The solution is to have PvP vendors and PvP gear progression. If they fixed THAT, would you be okay with PvE rewards being more commensurate with effort/difficulty?

Of course, that’s why I said until they revert back to systems that worked for years (they’ve shown zero inclination they want to do this though, sadly) then we’d be set. There was even a big topic about it in the arena forums, make PvP vendor gear better in PvP and worse in PvE, kinda like it was in MoP/WoD. Issue fixed at least from the PvP side.

I think some explanation/education might help.

The only way to make daily and weekly quests remotely relevant at a certain point, is to provide a possibility that the drop will Titan or Warforge. Without that, a static reward will provide no incentive for someone to do repeated content once they have equaled or passed it even slightly.

Example: I have ilvl 360 trinkets. WQ rewards 355 trinket… no thanks, no possibility of an upgrade. However, if said reward is 355+ or 360+, heck yeah I will give it a go. Why not, the only thing I have to lose is time, and I can gain so much more.

That’s why it exists. That’s why it is important.

Then I don’t disagree with you in any way, so I’ll move on

I also don’t understand why we’ve had to fix things that weren’t broken expansion after expansion until we got to the mess we’re in now. I also see no real hope of reverting most of those decisions though.

Trinkets are a rough example. I have a 355 that is outsimming some 400s

I don’t really terribly mind this if it is limited to +5 WF/+10 TF. Which in your example would make it worthwhile as well.

But you do get the point, I would hope.

Yeah and i still disagree with it. I find carrot on a stick lottery chances to be pseudo content

But the argument made is generally “once people pass a certain threshold then the pug scene for lower difficulties goes down”. Solo content titanforging means nothing to the general populace since it is solo content. If no one does WQs. Nothing changes. There is no interaction between players. I don’t agree with the above argument, but it at least SOMEWHAT holds weight for the pug scene for some (I know mosts guilds if they want to reclear a lower difficulty would just do it with themselves and knock it out in like an hour though).

Yep, I can see that. But they have put an algorithm in place that allows for some pretty incredible upgrades.

And I, for one, won’t be disappointed or claim “foul” if it Titanforges up passed any limits! Yay, for me!!

Again, it’s STILL hidden. It even says this players public profile is HIDDEN. Just because it can be found doesn’t mean it’s not hidden.

Looking at the armory post i have to wonder, is it possible to fake an armory post?

Because the armory i see here has her with no gloves, and 355 feet, but on wowprogress the hunter named Irisse on Maelstroms has 415 feet, and the same trinket but it’s 360.

I could see the trinket having been upgraded but why would she wear WORSE feet. Unless she’s trying to stop people from arguing the REAL problem is the easy gear you get at super high ilvls, “her warfront boots,” which are almost as high as a once in a lifetime titanforge.

And that is your prerogative and I can totally see how it can be a disincentive for some players.

But… that is the way it is for now. So, take advantage of it. Or don’t, that is up to you.

Probably wont change anytime soon. Because this game is thriving far too much to make any changes

I am not sure I am tracking with your statements. Pug scene?

I sense sarcasm in your post… that’s my jedi “emotion sensing” coming out. That’s why I easily earned the title in game, “Master of the Obvious”

You are being very specific on what kind of situation you may run into where a boss doesn’t have loot you may want and thus you don’t want to do harder content. Also that boss drops more then just pants, so you are kind of striking out there as well.

Are you trolling or do you actually think several people are lying and saying the profile and the titanforge is real for no reason?

Pick up groups. Raiding without a guild. The only reason people have any reason to go back to normal or any other difficulty after they clear it is a chance at WF/TF’ing. Once people clear normal without WF/TFing there is no reason to go back. Zero. So let us use somewhat small numbers in an example.

You have a pool of 1,000 people that want to PUG normal. Week one only about 50 people clear and then move on. Week two, about 150 more clear (since they have experience and gear from the previous partial clear where they went 5/9 or whatever). After two weeks our pool is down to 800. And it will keep decreasing because there is zero incentive for ones to go back instead of moving onto Heroic or something else. Soon once you get to like week 8 of the tier, there would be no one to PUG with and no guild would be in Normal at this point. You are officially way too late to have a shot at catching up.

Now I am not saying that everyone that passes the difficulty would go back for WF/TF chance, but as it stands currently, I only really benefit from like 2 pieces from Heroic. I CAN simply find a group on those bosses, but if I need to do 1 or 2 bosses prior to that boss (since there are no PUGs on EXACTLY mekkatorque for example), it isn’t THAT big of a deal because if I DO get a drop from them it could POTENTIALLY be a small upgrade.

It only matters to those who want to hold others back.

If your so leet try being that guy with 395 ilvl and have CE.

Gear progression is what other people want, in no way does other peoples progression impede the playstyle of the 2% that seem to seriously take issue with this gear system.

I’m glad the tone here has at least turn a little less accusatory from either perspective. Hopefully that can be maintained…

Off the top of my head, why I don’t like the incredible availability of high item level loot (WF/TF as well as very high base loot at 385/400):

  • Gear progression is gone.
  • Moving from one difficulty up to the next is unrewarding
  • Moving deeper and deeper into a raid in unrewarding
  • If my chosen content is raiding, keeping up with the others in the raid shouldn’t mean WQs, Warfronts, M+, … There used to be a little of this (daily heroic), but not even close to what it is now
  • I found raiding much more enjoyable when there was targetable gear (most specifically BiS). Now, I’ll replace the ideal gloves with TF gloves that were my least favorite.
  • I miss being able to feel done. I’d switch to alts. Do achievements. Now, any time off my main grinding is missing out on good chances of upgrades.
  • Some healthy competitiveness within the team is gone. Everyone’s gear is a large part more a reflection of luck and available time rather than just skill vs. skill

Note that no part of this has to do with someone doing different content and being sad they have gear like mine.
