I’m glad I’m not interested in ducks in the slightest or another flying carpet. Not going to waste my time on another holiday “refresh” that doesn’t actually do much of anything new.

Wowhead is the one who claimed it’ll take six years— not Blizzard.
Blizz didn’t say “collected over the years through Noblegarden.” They said, “collected in future events.”
So think of it like Pepe.
That’s assuming WoW is still around in another 6 years

To be fair, I still think it’s dumb to have Pepe work like Pepe does. I hate not knowing which appearances I have and which I need to collect on every single character I roll up.

I know that it’s a hard pill to swallow but nobody is entitled to everything in the game. People wanted meaningful choices and all of a sudden they rage when they are faced with choices.
Sure, but my point was it’s Wowhead sensationalism again to get people all riled up.

Ahem, what other event is going to give duck stuff, Rhielle? Have any of the other holiday event items been given in any other part of the game after? No?
Because with Blizz saying warbands and account wide rep are their steps towards making things “alt friendly,” it makes you wonder why they would do something so alt-unfriendly.
Not saying the sky is falling, but are we really going to get account wide dungeons teleports? Just for example.
Just to re-iterate -
The issue isn’t it’s a 6 year work-towards toy. (cause it’s literally just recolors)
The issue is the toy is useless on alts that don’t do the questline because of this. If they added a base color every character could access, then it’d be fine.
I agree with their decision. The mentality of instant gratification needs to go. This gives a player a reason to do these events every year instead of expecting new rewards for every holiday indefinitely.
On a side note, make mounts rare and special again.
so having a 15$ a month subscription that is REQUIRED to play the game is being a whale. I just can’t comprehend this logic.

Nobody knew it was a choice until after they made the choice. And nobody knew it was going to take 6 years until after the second day of the event.
And this isn’t a “meaningful” choice either, it’s about choosing the color of a baby duck. That you transform into for 3 minutes at a time.
You’re acting like this is some important life-altering decision that must be kept sacrosanct at all costs.
If Blizzard decides to make recolors of a mere duck differ from each other over a span of six years… I’m not going to care one bit because there are already different color varients.
