6 months after Classic launches... What will they say?

The one thing I don’t understand about all these Classic fluffing posts is why the posters keep posting them? People are playing classic; we get it. Why does it needed to be announced every second post in General? Post it in the forums dedicated to Classic.

I logged into the beta for literally five minutes, killed a few things, laughed and said no thanks. Vanilla was fun but I don’t have the time nowadays… Enjoy not being able to do anything other than raid or pvp (and if you think there was tons of stuff in vanilla to do other than raiding or pvping then your rose colored glasses are darker than I thought)

Wait, why are blood elves a reason why people dislike retail? I think you’re projecting your own opinion into the mouths of others mate. Additionally, I think the majority of the people playing the game are also looking forward to classic. Its okay to like both and to enjoy both, you don’t know have to act superior just because you like classic and think playing a video game and succeeding within it makes you better then others.

Nope. Classic is different. It’s neither good nor bad depending on who you ask.

Correct. Its 100% subjective. There is no objectively saying “40 mans are bad because no one enjoys them.”

If they were bad before, no one would’ve picked up wow in the first place. Now how many people are picking up wow today?

Giving players options to what they want should never be looked down. Also people who enjoy BFA like me, will enjoy it. Those who will enjoy classic, also like me, will enjoy it.

Everyone should share why they hate it, but don’t tell someone else what they want.

BFA isn’t bad or good. Its just not popular and the millions who unsubbed should be a concern for all of us in the community and equally to Blizzard.

Imo classic will work both ways, bringing in more people for BFA and Classic will grow.

I’ll be playing both. I don’t get why so many people have subscribed to this mutually exclusive idea of one or the other. I’m happy I’ll be able to flip based on how I feel about live/retail. During the lulls and down times (like now, waiting on 8.2); those are great times to enjoy classic once it’s available. Then when a new patch hits, dive into retail. It’ll be great.

You know what was awesome. My first computer with a dial up modem.

My Atari console game.

The first time I played a video game on my computer. Doom I believe.

Now at the time they were truly amazaballs.

However, many things have changed and evolved. I would no longer enjoy those things.

It’s called nostalgia.

I’ll be here when the nostalgia wears off. Keeping your seat warm for you.

You’re mistaking your idea of nostalgia for others. Plenty of people choose to play on free-servers as their full time gig; hundreds of thousands of them in fact. It’s the whole reason Blizzard were willing to go down this rabbit hole. There’s a market there, and it’s undeniable.

I don’t think their nostalgia will wear off at all. It’s easy to project your own feelings about something onto others and mask it as fact.

Funny you bring this up.

The first Ghost Recon that was on the Gamecube, from 2001. I still play this. In fact I played it earlier today. Really enjoyed it.

OSRS, I’m in a new clan I joined recently. Old School classic directly based off of the 2008 version of Runescape. Graphics and all.

I still enjoy playing Age of Empires 2. A 2d rts game. Played that one yesterday.

Nostalgia is a poor argument.

We see the damn beta. We like what we see. Some of us played on the private servers. We like what we played. Some of us played in the stress test. We like what we played.

There is no “wait until the real experience comes.” Stop telling other people what they want or don’t want.

I hope you have a truly lovely time playing classic.

They aren’t going to do any of that. They said they would not be adding to classic in fact. They did state if classic is a huge success they might make BC and Wrath servers but even then they will stay true to what those expansions were.

Right right, I even found the interview about it.

I played on the original stress test before vanilla even released; my account dates back to WoW beta. I know exactly what I am getting into. That includes my friends whom are going to be playing with me. We have no illusions about how bad 40 man raiding and molten bore were. We have no illusions about how different the dungeon experience was compared to now.

But that’s why we want to do it all over again. It’s going to be fun to see the contrast and build up. See where we were terrible in vanilla and how we have grown since then. The zones are going to be a huge trip down memory lane in their pre-cata forms.

I’m friggen stoked.

Funny, there’s loads of people that have access to beta and are thoroughly enjoying it for all the reasons clowns like yourself continue to claim “It’s only nostalgia”.

nostalgia glasses will come off when people remember it almost taking a year to get level 60. leveling took forever back then.

Hey buddy, I’m looking forward to Classic as much as the next guy, but what people are enjoying so far in the beta is the leveling process. That happens to be the sole reason I’m going to play Classic, which means I’m planning from Day 1 for it to not be a long-term investment for me.

I can’t imagine I’m alone in that thinking.

I’m glad Classic is happening. It’s cool to preserve what the game started as and to give those who want it back their outlet, even after outright denying it for years.

But it’s always going to be a niche thing in the long term.

Wrong; took me exactly 4 days to get to 60 when the game released in classic. Group of friends and I were the server firsts to 60. Leveling wasn’t that bad; people were just a lot more casual back then. the entire idea of wow in its classic variation was the journey not the destination. People took that to heart as well and took their time, smelled the roses.

That did not mean it was impossible to speed level.

When did I tell anyone else what to enjoy? I didn’t tell you or anyone what you do or don’t like.

I hope you have a wonderful time playing classic even though you feel the need to insult me.
