6 months after Classic launches... What will they say?

I predict after 6 months people will realize that the classic servers don’t have enough people to run a 10 man dungeon let alone a 40 man raid. They will then come to the forums to beg people to join the server so they can raid.

Source?

I fixed that for you.

Because you don’t speak for everyone.

There are plenty of people that experienced classic that will never go back to it again.

if you dont m+ in wow what do you do?m+ is the end game for most and with raider io its just bad imo.

it will get worse next expansion if m+ is still there

Pre raid gear is what. M+ should not be end game. Raiding is the end game. Raiding is the peak of the MMORPG experience. It should always be that way and that design philosophy alone is what exists in Classic.

They’re going to tell their share holders how much growth and subscription numbers have jumped, pretending they never were against it at all. Then proceed to make Retail super casual and probably murder it even harder. Jk, I have no clue but I believe the first part will be accurate the retail part not so much.

It must be amazing to beable to predict the future Mr Wizard.

You’re right. If M+ remains king then the next expansion will have to do something really special to make people swarm for it.

Most likely it won’t make raiding king again.

For us who love raiding as peak content, want to enjoy a true server community, love wpvp, don’t want effortless baseline content, and want to have rewarding grind content we will advocate for our classic servers to progress into something not classic anymore but not going into BC. A new raid after Naxx for lvl 60s.

Maybe include some new graphics, fix those bugs, continue to progress these new non-classic lvl 60 servers, with the design philosophies of classic.

This is what I want for modern wow but modern wow can’t fix server communities, won’t make the baseline difficulty at least require SOME effort, make raiding superior to all other forms of gearing, and have a rewarding grind.

I don’t mind pet battles, LFR existing, the achievement system, and even azerite. I just want 40 mans back, server communities, and rewarding grind. I just don’t see that or feel that enjoyment anymore. Oh… Did I mention ACTUAL tier sets? I want those too. Even ESO has tier sets… lets get real. WoW can actually do that too.

Lets be honest here…

The majority of people wanting Classic Servers didn’t play classic wow. Most of you aren’t going to make it past level 20.

Yep. I know I hate Classic. You’ve convinced me to never touch it I swear… I should’ve realized.

I raid right now. Every week. 40 mans are something i definately disagree with. While I myself didn’t play vanilla, people in my guild did. They’ve a said getting 40 people together was atrocious.

What I am hoping for is that if classic is hugely successful it’ll cause them to rethink huge amounts of their philosophy for retail WoW. This might give them the kick in the jeans they needed to actually innovate, or at the very least, revert WoW back into a more traditional MMO game.

I am not sure why they think making this game this way would be received well by the masses. People play MMO games for specific reasons; they are trying too hard to make it into something that MMORPG games are not.

A lot of people wanting to play classic servers are: people that played private servers (i never saw them) because they enjoyed them; those that dont find retail enjoyable; and a small subset that never experienced it.

Theres more than this myopic view.

LOL!

No… You don’t. I started wow in 2006, kinda during the Twilight year of Classic Wow. While I never completed a 40man raid during Classic, I did participate in the Special 40man Molten Core event during WoD. And let me tell you… That was a complete sh*tshow. Waited about 4 hours just to get a group going. Then, once we were in, it took another 6 hours just to complete the damn raid. We wipped a lot. People were constantly fighting and arguing the whole time. People went AFK during boss fights. It sucked. Had it not been for the Mount Reward, I would not have done it. Theres nothing fun about 40 man raids.

I only see classic hitting a wall at endgame. There’s little to do at endgame other than PvP or raid. PvP at high levels generally requires a dedicated group with you of competent players, much like raiding. So the two endgame products will be dominated by certain groups.

And since there’s no way to gain gear comparable to them, it’s going to become a matter of star-bellied sneetches. If the casual group is okay with this, then Classic will last. If casuals leave because they are unable to partake in coordinated group effort, then the Classic playerbase will die down.

I don’t think anyone is AGAINST classic… i think some players are just tired of reading the comments from classic fans how it will kill retail wow… and how this will save a dying game… just so much ridiculousness from the classic fan base that its fun to push the buttons of those delusional people.

My guess of what will happen after 6 months? Classic will have fans and will enjoy success, but it isn’t going to out populate retail servers. It is just another reason to maintain your subscription…

However… i say after 1 1/2 years, that game will do exactly what vanilla wow did… start losing players because doing the same thing over and over again gets old after a while. I don’t think it will be abandoned, but I do think people will log in to classic servers less and less… because lets face it… if you think there is nothing to do in BfA, you’re going to lose your minds to boredom in classic after a year.

Tier sets need to come back. It’s so dumb to have generalized sets when all the classes have a distinct theme.

How is it possible to design a mail set for both shamans and hunters when they are so different visually?

Just look at the BoD mail set. No hunter would ever wear something like that, it looks absurd.

I don’t know what “they” will say 6 months after Classic launches but I know what I’ll be saying:
“Only 10 more levels til I can get a mount! WOOHOO!”

(not a knock on the game. I just know what my life will be like around that time and I’ll be leveling at a slow rate. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: )

Just like I said, you are already playing what we play now with a ‘vanilla’ wrapper on it. There’s phasing, crz, etc etc.

Classic is not vanilla. It is what we are playing now.

:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

Classic is bad… :ok_hand:
