During Legion: “Classic would never happen. Blizzard isn’t that stupid.”

Classic announced: “Its going to fail. Almost no one will honestly play it.”

Beta has MASS hype: “This is all going to die down. Everyone is wearing rose tinted glasses. No one is ACTUALLY enjoying the beta.”

People play stress test, and are extremely pleased: “You’re only lvl 5… like seriously. You don’t even want to know how bored you’ll get later on. Trust me, I played it and I HATE it now. Sure it was great for its time, but you really would like BFA more.” (2 million people quit since BFA launch, and that number is increasing; RIP)

Classic at launch, population is larger than even Legion’s: “Half of these people won’t be here after a month. Its all stupid, no one is going to like having to work for their enjoyment. Come to BFA, the joy is effortless and there is instant gratification waiting for you. :slight_smile:”

6 months after launch. The anti-Classic crowd as expected will always have some banter towards Classic.

6 months after launch, population stabilizes and has more players than BFA: "Technically this isn’t the “real” vanilla experience. So the success of Classic is actually not really the success of Classic. I mean if it was there would be a crappy experience. Right now its a good experience, and that isn’t classic. So Blizzard tweaked it and the community isn’t playing how it was back then…

Classic is still a crap game, again… this isn’t “classic” truly. So we’re still right."

Top 3 reasons BFA players are against classic: 1- No blood elves. 2- Questing requires more effort than LFR at 120 in BFA. 3- You’re forced to make time to achieve things in the game.

I’m hoping for WoW dominance in the industry again. Classic is a huge success, Blizz uses that to fix the issues with retail, and then BAM, it’s 2020 and we have 50 millions subs across retail and classic.

If classic is a huge success it’ll propel them to BC and onward legacy servers. Need new management if you want to 180 retail in the future.

That list of reported “bugs” only proves that not everyone asking for Classic actually played in vanilla, or didn’t remember it properly, and just bought into the hype.

I mean I’ll try it since I wasn’t around for vanilla. I have a feeling most who are parading around crying down with retail will be back to retail after trying and failing at classic. The grass isn’t always greener for everyone.

All the streamers: "Man it was fun but the nostalgia glasses were on hard, I gotta admit its rough and honestly people arent showing up for the streams where I attack one mob for 6 hours a day so we’ll be moving onto something else.

All the streamer fans who can’t think for themselves: “Receiving programming… Nostalgia glasses… classic lame… Asmon programming received!”

I have always supported the idea of a “classic” server but I have no illusions that it will be any were near as popular at the current game. It is new right now and that lends a lot to it’s popularity. But many people will not find the lack of player friendly convenience to be a deal breaker after a while. I mean you can’t go a single day around here without someone whining about a lack of flying mounts. Yet they are going to play thru all of the current classic game without flight or hell even being able to get a mount until level 40? People complain that leveling takes too long (while decked out in looms), wait until they see what leveling use to be like.

Once the “new car smell” fades, I expect the numbers to drop down to just the really core Classic players. I am sure it will be enough to support a couple of servers and that will be a win for us.
