50 character limit

Some people just like making a various amount of different characters. What’s wrong with that?

People have their reasons. Each character, to me, has their own personality. Some of them only play as one spec while others focus on different things.

I don’t limit myself to one character and make them do everything. That’s boring to me. And technically, we can double the character cap by getting another WoW account (under the same Battle.net account). You get the same benefits any of your characters get (achievements, mounts, titles, etc.) The only downside is paying for a second subscription.

Because I’ve had my account since 2005 and I have various characters on it I’m sentimental towards and can never delete / I make alts to keep the game fresh.

No, it isn’t.

Players don’t need more than 50 character slots in order to play the game. In fact, they don’t even need that many.

Just pay for another account and !poof! your minimum will be doubled!

Also was this thread not good enough for you to post in:

People farming mounts with lockouts

Your logic is going to run into trouble if Blizz adds another class next xpac

To farm tier xmog

I have 5 accounts so my minimum has been quintupled  It would be nice if I could just give Blizz $30 a month for 100 slots on the same account but they must want me to multibox so I oblige lol.

Do you get punched in the face often irl by any chance?

Removing the cap would create name hoarders. I for one don’t want to run to a website to buy a name off a third party every time I want a character name without a dozen ASCII characters. It’s already bad on some servers.

No, you.

Why ask why?

I think that’s the reason for the cap, honestly. To trick you into buying more than one account, for extra character slots.

Maybe not originally because leveling wasn’t always as quick as it is now. Back in vanilla a 50 cap was probably just like there being no cap at all  I don’t think I heard of one person who had 50 60s in Vanilla lol.
These days you can buy instant 60s if you want and if you don’t want it should only take a week (real world time) to level 1-60 assuming you have a busy life.

OP, what servers are connected to yours? You can have 50 per server, and some connected realms consist of 5 servers giving you a cap of 250 characters on the same realm, go nuts!

I believe what OP is talking about is the account cap not the server cap lol.

What we are asking wouldnt effect anyone yet the vitriol from some people who say get a life is so ironic seeing how they lurk on this forum to tell other people to get a life while they have none themselves. This game is nearly 20 years old and people like myself have had to delete characters cause of this silly cap. People act like its hard to level up a toon when its not especially after the 300 percent increase buff and the insta level up that blizz openly endorses.

but but but we need 1 of every class on every race

and why not? Please say why we shouldnt?

50 characters is extremely generous. They should sell character slot expansion for those weirdos who can’t get what they need done in 50 char slots, maybe. But you gotta think about the insane storage costs of 50 characters per account. I think if everyone filled all their slots Activision would go bankrupt. SSDs aren’t free, and they have a huge obligation to store that data in a safe way or their entire business model fails.

What a bunch of BS SSDs arnt free and neither if my 15 dollars a month. This is 2022 not 2004. Is that really all you got to justify this?
