There are soo many separate flaws with these statements.
Alsoo how would I feel shame or inferiority because someone has 50 random characters and if he could 100 characters in wow?
I do find it odd how the account-wide limit has remained the same, over the years, but the server cap has increased. IDK what the server cap is, nowadays, since I have 19 characters, all on the same server, on the same account. When before, the server cap was 10 characters per server. I agree that the account cap should be doubled, since I’m assuming (I haven’t tested it, yet), we can have 20 characters per server, I’m guessing? That’s double than the original (10) server cap. Makes sense, IMO, to double the account cap, as well, to match the new server cap.
You can have all 50 on one server.
Being entirely open minded to everything is also not a good thing, you do realize that right?
Being open-minded is not the same thing as “accepting”.
Gotcha. I remember the 10 cap was increased to 12, at a certain point. Now, it seems all 50 of your account-wide toons, can be on the same server. I don’t think I’ll end up using that, but I’d (definitely) like an increase from to 50 to 100, just to mess around, on different servers.
I understand what you mean, and without condemning or condoning what you said I still respect what you said. And that’s what its all about at the end of the day, respecting whatever other people believe or don’t believe in, or want for that matter as long as it does not hinder other people’s gameplay. That’s why I respect what you said, but disagree with, respectfully of course.
Sir, these are the WoW forums. Please save your well-reasoned, cogent arguments for real life where they will be appreciated.
Did I say I wasn’t being accepting?
I don’t care what someone does in wow. My original comment was asking why to the op.
Then that other person was getting up in arms thinking I’m telling him how to play going on saying I am close-minded for what ever reason.
If we’re going to play this game there are 194 combinations available. 388 if you go for males and females too.
Can’t imagine why anyone would want to, but some people will push those kinds of limits. The real question is how much data does it cost Blizzard to increase the character count for us.
Please show me where I said anything about open minded to everything?
If you can’t accept the fact that people don’t play the same way you do, then so be it, but you don’t get to decide what’s good or bad for others. There’s no excuse for belittling how others play, which is what happens around here constantly when this topic comes up.
No one is up in arms. I call out behavior like this, because these types of comments are always judgmental and dismissive and devolve the topic into others being judgmental and dismissive:
Being open minded to everything IS a good thing. It means you saw it for what it was and came to a logical, thoughtful conclusion. The opposite is closed-minded where you already made up your mind before giving it a fair processing in the 'ol noodle.
After you gave it a chance THEN you make a judgement on the idea (not on the person). While you can judge people (everyone does it even ones saying not to) it is most harmful when you don’t really know them… that whole “walk a mile in their shoes”.
One last thing, being open minded means others can show you perspectives you didn’t think about originally. That’s how we foster community and peace… the opposite is trolling and bickering. Guess which humans do more of?
No, and that’s not what I said, either. I had implied that “accepting” everything would be bad over just being open-minded. If something is to be bad, IMO, it would be “accepting” everything instead of being open-minded about all things.
There’s alot in this world you really shouldn’t bee open minded too. Just think about it for a few minutes all of what happens in this world.
You should be happy more people are agreeing with you and making noise.
Also I don’t read general discussion because it’s a cesspool.
You’re misunderstanding open minded with acceptance like someone else said. I am open minded to even horrible stuff like murder. My conclusion is the same… it’s bad and murderers deserve life sentences.
Open minded means listening to the other side, thinking it over and THEN making a judgement call. That’s it. Being open is not the same as condoning.
I actually in a earlier post said I don’t care what people do in wow m8.
I was wondering why someone would need more characters, for what reason did this person have to want 50 extra character slots in a game like wow.
I didn’t even say for him to play a specific way, actually I didn’t even say anything about any kind of playstyle.
Again there are multiple things in this world that being open minded to is very very questionable.
Quite alot that more then likely can’t be said in this without a likely suspension.
Well we have to agree to disagree. There’s never a reason in my book to shutdown dialogue even for horrible things. Because you’ll never convince anyone to change their mind if everyone is closed minded.
That’s what we call “backpedaling.” If you were actually curious, you would have worded that entirely different. But you didn’t. It’s the same attitude we see around here constantly when this same topic comes up. It’s the same questions and same way everyone tries to shut down others.
The more the merrier in my opinion. I don’t have over 50, but know people who do and who enjoy the character creation mechanism even if they don’t play the characters all extensively.
