Nope. I don’t think I’m ever quitting WoW. Breaks? Sure. But I love this game too much and everything about Warcraft in general.
Frost mage has been the target of a variety of buffs and is very strong again now!
Also, you are free to switch covenants whenever you like!
Night Fae is strong for Fire, but its not going to stop you from succeeding if you do wish to play Fire.
Maximizing this is something only the absolute top of the top would need to be concerned with, especially in Mage’s case.
Their covenant ability is very low impact for them, compared to other classes.
My experiences are the compete opposite of what you are claiming. I login at normal times and my guild is not online, and my friends list is dark as well.
I used to see oribos full. That’s not the case now. It used so bad that there’s was significant lag after logging in. Not so anymore. I used to see the “who” was hanging out in oribos, and it would fill up. Now? I might get 20 people.
That is a drop. There’s no way to hide that.
You have no faith Neilson, yet they go directly to the customers with a questionnaire. They compile what they get back and present it. Like they’ve done since i was a kid in the 70s. To claim they have no value is just wrong, because of some arbitrary ruleset you want to go by. Why not take a look at their questionnaire before you judge something you know nothing about?
I mean I haven’t quit yet but I usually just end up sitting in my chair afk watching YouTube lol
On the verge of it.
I only stuck around because a few friends from Horde came over to Alliance to meme and make an Alliance RBG team, mostly due to the sheer lack of high experience leaders still playing Alliance that aren’t just forcing people to do free self-play boosts. (Groups I got stuck in a few times because I had no other options.)
But the faction imbalance and the personal financial cost for me to get away from it-either by going Horde, or transferring to one of the few remaining high population Alliance servers - is far too steep to stomach, especially as a BG premade leader who has more characters than your average player that sees active game time - who also does gold farming as an end game hobby.
I’m tired man.
I can look past a lot of the game’s issues, but this, and the lack of customization and care towards PvP balancing is exhausting.
I dont know yet, I do not even log on during the week anymore. I just log on to raid with my guildies . If it wasn’t for that I dont think I would be playing, on top of that Blizzard just cant get to balance rogue right. The best spec for raiding his outlaw and even that has RNG built into that spec too with roll the bones. Did not renew my sub, it expires in April.
Wouldn’t that be your opinion? I mean no offense, but for someone who is talking about factual… the fact is that some people care about this topic and it’s fine to be concerned about it.
It’s your opinion that it doesn’t matter…
Blizzard has made the obvious mistake of trying to be too many things to too many people.
It’s not actually possible to keep both the guy who wants to play in 10 minute sessions, and the guy who wants to engage in epic mmorpg fun, happy.
Just like it’s not possible to have extremely difficult content be rewarding, without upsetting the person who can’t complete difficult content.
They should have just stuck with the formula that worked in vanilla, and TBC. But they got greedy, and started trying to expand their player base, instead of catering to what they already had. So now they’ve got people who simply won’t be happy, if the “other side” gets what will make them happy.
If we are being honest, most people are only here because of sunken cost fallacy. I’ve got hundreds of days of playtime on my main, but only rarely find enough fun to justify the time I spend every expansion.
Questionnaire?
I don’t understand what that even means, but if its asking players their opinion about how many players are playing, its even less interesting.
Anyway, what you described is likely a factor of choosing a guild that was never going to play long term.
How long were you in that guild and how actively did you play BFA with them?
Why not find a more active group, or even server?
Players might be playing less hours total each week, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t playing, or that they wouldn’t be willing to play with each other when the situation arises.
That’s the case with my guild, which has been around since Mid-wrath.
Obviously there aren’t 30 people online around the clock like there was in November, but everyone still logs on for raid, and people are constantly forming groups outside of the game in discord that then translate to groups in the game shortly after.
I have been a fan of PvP since its inception, and more so in the Burning Crusade. This expansion has been the least PvP friendly I’ve ever had the displeasure of playing. And that is saying a lot, coming from BfA.
The carries, and the gear disparity is grotesque. Long gone are the days of working towards your BiS PvP gear from conquest grinding, now stuck behind rating where 2s are plagued by carries, RBGs falling apart after 1 one loss, and 3s… well, bleh.
I love PvP, but this game has turned me away. I now log once a week or so, to do a transmog run or a few bgs.
Bring back the conquest grind and lock elite transmogs, mounts, titles, and similar cosmetics behind rating – not gear behind rating. Otherwise you get this hot mess; 220+ players smoking honor-geared players and even “gladiator gear” ~ 200 ilvl.
Interesting idea. That would involve the following:
*Remove LFR, Normal, and Heroic raids.
*Remove Mythic+
*Remove rated battlegrounds
*Remove world quests (although daily quests could remain)
*Remove pet battles
*Remove Dungeon Finder
*Remove Group Finder
Are you sure that’s a good idea?
Oh ya, this one is my opinion for sure.
I was referring to other threads.
But really, why would you care?
Are you a stock holder with the company?
Unless so many people quit that there are no longer enough players to fill the group requirements, it makes very little impact on the average player.
Most people just provide anecdotes about their friends quitting, but I struggle to believe any of those players are people who had played the game daily week in and week out for a length of time and suddenly Shadowlands broke them.
Most people who quit did so every expansion they had played and would do so no matter what was produced, because they aren’t in it long term.
THey actually specifically stated they did not include China and even if the data they collected just included 1 region say NA 41 % is a significant decline but they also say
World of Warcraft player numbers fell back to normal levels as the excitement around November’s Shadowlands expansion subsided. From November to January, revenue fell by 61% and user numbers declined by 41% (these figures do not include China). This roughly matches the pattern seen for the past several expansions, though Shadowlands had a bigger launch. Blizzard does appear to have found a way to increase how often expansions are able to boost earnings. The publisher recently announced that it will be adding the 2007 Burning Crusade expansion into World of Warcraft: Classic this year. Alternating between releasing all-new and classic expansions could cause WoW revenue to spike annually for the near future, instead of every two years (the typical development time for the title’s expansions).
I’ve got play time but not an active subscription. I’m very tempted not to renew until 9.1.
Why do people switch toons, change their persona and act like this is a normal behavior. These forums and game really are a breeding ground for mental illness.
Hopefully the m+ community perception shifts after a while but people do seem to prefer their m+ mages meta fire Fire vs frost - #8 by Kenbud-wyrmrest-accord,
Like I said I just can’t be bothered and am already timid to face any criticism they might throw at me. I could perhaps find a stable group but for some reason I lack the motivation this xpac and just want to play other games.
I care cause I’m still one of the fool running end content in the world. And as of late, it does really feel empty cause there just are as many m+ groups and etc. List is full of [WTS] for the first time I actually actively seemed out for a add on to filter them out. It never bothered me enough in the past to care.
But that’s a side topic. So… why do I care? Cause yeah, it feels empty. Ain’t many groups in the premise group finder.
Right, and my position is that not including at least one third of the playerbase makes the entirety irrelevant, and also that they have absolutely zero way to know how much direct revenue the game provides the company without the company telling them.
In another thread people suggested that Blizzard did indeed do this, which I am unaware of, so that’s beyond me at least.
But there is no way that these global games can be measured accurately if you are willing to ignore China.
Far too big of a market.
I honestly believe its probably half of the game’s population at this point.
Nope.
Still subbed because right now it’s stress relief. Might not have much to do in SL but plenty to do leveling alts through other zones and still have some mounts to collect.
This is kind of my problem. I feel like I can play the same amount of hours now as I did in BC, but I’m not actually DOING anything. I would log in back then and just BG for hours, or run some heroics with friends and have fun.
Now I log in and look at my chore list if I don’t want to get behind on a bunch of crap that shouldn’t matter but does, and by the time I’m done I don’t have much time to actually enjoy it.
I already took a 2 month break in SL and we’re not even a patch in yet. That’s the earliest any expac ever burned me out.
I was piddling around in Classic still, but only started playing retail again during the Texas Blizzard because I was bored out of my mind. I’m already burning out again.
