I was impressed with SL. I haven’t liked retail for a lonnnngg time. I did stop playing retail about 6 weeks ago. But it was fun. I’m sure I may go back at some point. I’ve returned to Classic after not playing since retail’s launch.
No, I’m not and it’s hilarious people are making a big deal about this when the article that revealed these findings said this was “normal” and “in line” with expansion launches since Legion.
“Since Legion”
We really using BFA as a positive metric?
Legion - considered by many the greatest expansion since Wrath had the same drop off as BFA.
I am not leaving SL anytime soon, however, my game play is going down. Problem is that I really, really dislike pvp. That leaves raids and mythic plus and…meh…
Believe it or not, the horrific profession grind to upgrade legendaries is the only thing that keeps me going. I always liked to harvest mats, but that will only go so far…
Me too. I let my friends try WoW for the first time, and they even said that classic had more of an adventure feel. And it took time, however the combat did get boring in retail. They woulda liked it more if retail was a little slower, but still kept the fun combat. People just breeze through 1-50, and it just feels like a rush to endgame.
I’m a bit burnt out of the grind personally, I dislike how little anima comes from stuff mostly, and I’m not a fan of where DK is for PvP (survivability sucks currently compared to how it was in BFA)
Still subbed as I most likely will always be subbed, but definitely greatly disappointed with Shadowlands. All my friends have quit. I log in on only reset day. I get 1000 anima, 20 souls, torghast on my one characters that still needs a legendary upgrade which will be done next week, and do my weekly ICC runs on all characters cause even after years that horse still won’t drop for me. The other six days a week I play ESO with my friends that left WoW. I find ESO to be an infinitely superior game in every way. I only stay subbed to WoW cause of nostalgia and time invested.
You ought to put some reins on that horse so it will stop for you!
Seriously though fingers crossed for your next runs!
Well it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to put two in two together. People who dislike things complain about it. Is this news to you? Seems to affect you a lot that you brought it up. I don’t see anyone calling you delusional for liking the game
For a bit.
My computer suffers whenever I turn it on - I used to be able to run wow on 8s but now I can barely run it on lowest setting. So my sub ends tomorrow and will stay that way until I finally get myself to repair it.
But even when I come back, I don’t have a raid team. I’m graduating from grad school and starting my career with my partner. Living in the US is horrible. I’ll never be able to play like I once did.
So like half losing a sub?
cause the game is boring and the community is just LFR type attitudes and its just not fun.
No.

No I’m one of those people who keeps playing.
There are always those people who sub at the start of an expac and quit right away. It’s nothing new
no i dont i like world of war craft
So, one thread claims a 41% drop in the size of the playerbase, another says the playerbase has declined 69%. Now there’s some streamer saying ‘half the players’ are gone.
It’s almost as if there are no reliable, verifiable numbers available and people are just making crap up out of a desire to convince everyone that the sky is falling.
There sure are alot of people questioning the player base decline. All of my friends and quit aand guild disbanded over a month ago. Seems like most people are waiting for tbc now.
Never brought SL in first place.
Sticking to old school wow
The big issue is that most want to call it a normal decline after a launch.
I’m more or less in the same boat as you. Friends and guild are dark, some people haven’t logged in for over 45 days. I don’t call that an accident.
Myself, I’m not waiting for TBC classic. I don’t care about it. I was there for the real thing and that wasn’t all that great. I can’t imagine the “re-release” will do much better.
I unsubbed because anima grinds make playing alts and seeing the whole expansion next to impossible. Add in the bait and switch of no new customization options, and I had enough.
Too bad I had a 6 month sub. Now months of game time are going to waste. But even that isn’t a motivating enough factor to get me to play. So here I am waiting out my sub ending. Now I remember why I used to only get one month at a time.
