41% player base loss, are you one?

I agree, the Garrison and MOP farm are good examples of that.

Unfortunately I think “pooped” is the strongest word the forum filters allow.

Start the obvious , none of the stated 41% lost are able to respond here as you need an active subscription to post so your target audience is unable to answer you.

Two the article that everyone is taking as gospel has huge flaws in their methodology for coming up with that number as miss things like people with 6 month subs, people buying tokens, etc.

Three let’s say that the 41% drop is the real number and the other things said in that horribly researched article are true, also states this is a normal percentage drop starting from a higher than normal start place so therefore WoW is not just going strong but better than usual at this point in an expansion.

I look at it like this; While your analysis is correct that this is the normal ebb and flow of the game if this is true then game isn’t having much growth attributed to it. So essentially we’re just turning a profit but the profit hasn’t changed or grown with the times. There’s an old saying in Sales which is “If you’re not growing you’re dying”

I think the biggest takeaway from this data is that no it’s not a mass exodus as some people are pointing out. But it does lend credence to lead one to believe that the game is facing a large stagnation of it’s game.

Normal being, WoD, BFA, and now Shadowlands?

Legion was an outlier but still had issues.

It’s being discussed. The thread is just kind of all over the place, though.

For example, I posted this, earlier:

Yeah actually I heard about it and watched some beta testers on it. That’s why I said blizzard is a laughing joke being a multi billion dollar company.

That’s actually why I’m very critical to blizzard. The way the operate and etc. I get it that as a company you wanna make profit, but upsetting your bread and butter isn’t really the way to do it.

I’m not in the gaming industry, but I won’t lie, because of how they operate, if I was hiring I wouldn’t hire someone that worked at blizzard. Except their art team and marketing team lol. Cause you can see they know how to do their job…

Well… yeah.

I often say to people, “Everyone who wants to play WoW, or would play WoW, is probably already playing WoW.”

It’s not a NET growth game, hasn’t been for years.

Why can’t people post in one of the many active threads on the same topic?

Just like the other poster said

To you “other” peoples opinions or complaints are whining? Interesting.

It’s not just WoW though. The MMO genre in general is a stagnate market. Meanwhile literally a game that’s in Alpha is right behind WoW. Says a lot about the status of this game I think.

Another good point often brought up is that if WoW didn’t have it’s massive rise, and history, if it launched today on it’s own it probably would be a flop.

That’s why people who were eager to celebrate the Q4 earnings as a Blizzard success story don’t realize why it was an Activision success story. CoD and Candy Crush are overperforming by a wide margin. WoW and Blizzard are just doing okay and that’s not failing!

The thing is people are complaining about the number of players that are playing the game.

This doesn’t matter to me. The way I see it is I log in everyday, and there are the same 10-15 people in my guild I raid with.

What makes you think I care about the other hundreds of thousands of players that’s just dumb, just like the point of this thread.

People are literally on this thread hopping on the whining bandwagon.

yeaaa right. just like alts, good luck on the RnG catch-up system.

Yet here you are adding your 2 cents, it wasn’t a click bait you knew what it was when you clicked it. So really in a way you are whining.

Got any evidence for that?

I’m not complaining about anything. I’m simply pointing out what is happening. Nice try though.

Well I could but most of the reports I’m reading include MOBAs as a subset if MMOs. So it’s really tough to parse through the data if you consider MOBAs to be a form of MMOs.

You should just stop digging. No one on this forum who has seen their guild die off and friends list empty out plays with anyone on a Chinese server.

No. Send gold to me.

Ever wonder why green posters have a bad rep?
