I’m enjoying Shafowlands, but there are definitely issues with it. The anima drought is bad, and Blizzard adding in items that are “meant to be worked towards for the entire expansion” was a really bad idea because it all seems so out of my reach right now, let alone doing it on alts or other characters. And the loot acquisition felt slower though I haven’t exactly been impacted by it much. Torghast’s inception was a lot more fun than what we got, I don’t know how they managed to screw that up, and the Maw feels pretty irrelevant to me at this point as I don’t care much for sockets or conduits.
But I genuinely love the raid and dungeons, they’re one of the best we’ve gotten in a long time. To the point I actually still look forward to running through Heroic tonight when I burned out on Highmaul, Emerald Nightmare, and Uldir a lot sooner. And I actually like pushing in M+ to try and get all 15s done. So it’s frustrating that the rest of the game feels like a slog when the dungeons and raid feel great.
I don’t think they’ll fix it, I don’t have a lot of faith in Blizzard. So WoW has sort of become a raid logging game while I play other things. So far FF has had dreadful instanced content for me to the point I find it boring and a chore, but the world has been so enjoyable. Granted, I’m not even into Heavensward yet so they’re leveling instances, but I’ve just not had any fun doing them. Monster Hunter Rise comes out later this month, with Pokémon Snap coming out in April, so WoW will take a back seat for a bit. And I’m not exactly upset about that; I have the ability to play the content that I want in WoW and have time for other games. I wish things in WoW were better, but this is something I do like in that I’m not 100% devoted to it due to necessity.
I’ll likely be around for the rest of the expansion, though that QnA soured me towards the dev team. They have a ways to go to improve my opinions of them.
No it’s what happens when you turn an MMO into a seasonal Diablo s-show. Never happened when they actually provided meaningful content to complete outside of instances. My friends list never emptied out during BC and Wrath, Cata or even MOP. This is a Blizzard development problem. But, for sure, when BC Classic drops retail will be a ghost town.
Thankfully, I never need to log on to Retail again, other than to convert my gold to game time. It’s dead to me. They can print money for a few years re-releasing non-seasonal Classic expacs.

Then they shouldn’t care about the global trends of the playerbase.
If your “guild has died off” 3 months into the expansion, time to find a new more long-term oriented guild.
Mine has been raiding together since mid-wrath and this is the strongest the team has been in recent memory.
WoD was REALLY bad, and BFA was almost the end of the guild.
This is nothing, honestly.
I do not believe anyone who is freaking out about this actually played this game long term, because there have been way worse things that have gone on.
You think its bad now, wait until TBC comes out.
That’s what people should really be worried about.
Find a group that plans on sticking together through that right now.
Which is a good thing. One of the criticisms that they responded to was how the game had so many chores, so they dialed it back a bit by removing AP and making mandatory world quests not a thing. Much of the “grind” is now cosmetic.
Of course, there are still plenty of mandatory chores, especially if you want to raid. But SL did take things in the right direction.
I think most people who play don’t want to have to play WoW to the exclusion of all else. Raid logging is good since it lets people play other games or enjoy some life balance.

They don’t care about the global trend, they care about the dead game. That’s the point, no one cares what you think is happening in China. The West is collapsing, bc the expansion is terrible.
Sounds like its time to make new friends.
Plenty of people like the way the game is now, and communities are blossoming every day!
I know I am the exception when I say I have been playing with the same people for this long.
In 2021, its harder to find lasting friendships on the internet.
Especially when the company keeps releasing products with no staying power like Classic and TBC.
Really, I feel most for the Classic fans who have no interest in TBC.
Really bad, honestly.
No it isn’t though.
People may stop playing, but even if every single server but a single locked one all had 0 players on them, there would still be enough players to continue playing this game.
Hell, half the people around this forum don’t even WANT other players to play with.
As long as the development team is producing content and there are a few thousand concurrent players per faction per region, the game is not collapsing.
At least as far as players are concerned.
The problem is, this topic is not from the player’s viewpoint.
Its from the ownership’s viewpoint.
100% this. I’m not at all upset about it because in the past, WoW was all I did. And…you know, it did kind of suck missing out on some other games.
The way I see it, I’m honestly fine with playing a whole bunch at the start and then tapering off for a while after. It doesn’t necessarily feel bad to me, but that’s also just me. Instead I get to focus on other games coming up, and then 9.1 will be fresh again and I’ll be back to enjoying the game.

41% based on what data? Some clueless clickbait youtube “content creator”
hell naw, BFA was way worse than SL, here i can get on an alt, grow to 60, equip 165 gear right away and then work on covenant campaign for a 197 set, then work on growing my character over time.
i actually feel done for the day with my character after a few hours of time, so i’m not even bothered by the anima grind yet because i’m having fun getting to the 200 ilvl plateau.
there are some problems-- like with anima-- that need fixing, but while it’s getting fixed i’m being chill and alting up a storm, something i wasnt able to do because of the endless AP grind of BFA.
It made perfect sense. We were told we could play the covenant of our choice without it dramatically affecting gameplay but then the covenants are so radically different at producing results that other players seem to feel free to tell you that you need to change your covenant if you want to group with them. Not a difficult concept unless you force it to be.

stop being dense and acting silly on purpose… you know throwing the word “whining” when people is giving feedback you’re doing it to bait a reaction… it’s the same mentality that people uses “crying” when they don’t agree with someone elses opinion.
It’s 2021 why don’t you use that power of talking whatever you want to actually use words as intented? it’s not “crying” it’s not “whining” it’s not “complaining” it’s an opinion you don’t share.
Or keep following this path and follow the sheeps with words. You do you.
We all knew that was a lie from the beginning, though.
You sound super triggered. Stay mad noob!
Makes it seem like they don’t do it. then you say
I mean why worry about what others think if they are not doing the endgame content because most things revolve arounf M+ or raiding??
I don’t know how much clearer I need to be when asking which is and it makes no sense.
and yet you’re still here, you must like whining people?
I’m “triggered” how? by trying to enlight how to actually use words?
Didnt they teach you the basic things on school? perhaps I was expecting a bit too much from a random. My bad.
