He’s not, you’re supposed to cleanse it. It’s no different than in the past where they had a limit on 2 legendaries equipped, or 2 pieces of crafted epics, it’s simply a soft cap based on your corruption resistance and how much difficulty you’re willing to deal with.

They will tweak something before the expansion is over and we’ll all be really powerful for a month before Shadowlands comes out.

You are getting corrupted gear from what world quests ? In the new area or the original areas. I thought the original areas were still using titanforging/no corruption.

Pre-8.3 content will still forge up, to a maximum of 455 (8.2 item level cap).
No corruption though on that gear ?

8.3.5 will likely be the prepatch leading into Shadowlands.

Cloak won’t matter much to those who don’t give a **** about the corrupted gear thing and will just cleanse all pieces and forgo the pitfalls.

So I’m guessing the cloak itself will be easy to obtain then, it’ll be grinding it up that’s hard. That’s interesting, but I’m absolutely not going to up it beyond what feels too time-sinky. They’ve already announced the next expansion so I see no need for perfectionist overkill.
Cloak is important for farming corrupted momentos. Corrupted momentos is the only way to cleanse corrupted gear.

That’s because even though it’s a little exaggerated, the OP’s argument stands.
So it’s not 15 weeks for 50 corruption resistance. Fine.
It’s still 25 additional weeks for 125 corruption resistance.
We’ve been playing this end of xpac legendary grind for a while now(WoD ring, Legion trinket, this cloak), and it has never been fun.
It’s there merely to ensure some players have a carrot to follow on the stick.
There is a reason I divide the WoW timeline in pre-WoD and post-WoD.

Anyone else get a splitting headache trying to do the math on upgrading the cloak?
Do this for X amount of weeks then it unlocks Y…which you then need Z of to get to ABC.
