40 weeks up fully upgrade a Legendary Cloak

Good thing they’re split, and the “need Z of to get ABC” doesn’t start until after you’ve completed all the X amount of weeks to unlock Y.

In order to upgrade your cloak to ABC you will need several weeks of A, B then C…all in a row, not concurrently. After that X takes Y weeks for Z to unlock. Then XYZ will take you a few more weeks and you can only get 1 X per week, 2 Y’s and after you get that 1 X. You will need 4 Z’s to finally get to the end…but only after 40 weeks.

It’s absolutely mind boggling…not only that they introduced this in a .3 patch…but that they continue to ignore player feedback on how much the Azerite grind is annoying people.

I guess losing subscribers is something Blizzard enjoys.

Ill give 8.3 a try…unlock the cloak on my main…grind it…but if its soul sucking like the azerite grind is…I’ll unsub until SL.

Post WoD era has been a steady decline of the game. Patch 8.3 feels so bad. :frowning:

Not me, I am barely spending any time on it at all. Complete waste of time seeing as it will be useless in Shadowlands, unless you are a hardcore raider I guess.

Getting upgrades you can’t wear until you cleanse the best part of the upgrade away sounds horrible. What’s the points of corruption if all we do is get rid of it, why even have it, This is one of them most horrible systems to date. And everyone wonders why BFA has surpassed WoD as the worst expac ever.

It is so complex because the different tiers of corruption is difficult to decide using the eyeball test lol.

Honestly, the only answer is to unsub or stop logging into this expac. Blizzard twists metrics in order to support their lousy design choices. But they can’t twist a massive exodus or drop in player hours so easily.

I love WoW but I loathe these uncreative grinds they pass off as game-play.

It makes sense in the context of keeping players busy up through the release of Shadowlands. Remember that Blizz wants to soften or eliminate inter-patch sub drops.

In the original zones.
He never made it to even begin the new patch areas.

Yes, that gear will corrupt as well as the new areas.
two out of the three were WQ rewards from Stormsong Valley.

oh well I guess I fish, I am just not interested in playing their corrupt game gear.

They originally said that if you didn’t want to use this corrupt gear you could just reforge it off (no mention of a price). Guess they changed that because too many people found that idea attractive.

They said the original areas could still titanforge and since corrupt was supposed to be replacing titanforged I assumed no corrupting.

Yeah, it broke my heart when I had to put down my new fox before he even touched any of the new areas.

Not a fan.

They just blame that exodus on what they want to blame it on. In WoD it was because people all of a sudden got old.

The BiS 2 handed sword that drops from N’zoth.

Devastation’s Hour: Your attacks have a chance to trigger a beam of Twilight Devastation, dealing damage equal to 5% of your health to all enemies in front of you.

Has a whopping +75 corruption. You need to due mundane stuff to level up this cloak to even use the dam thing. Without it wrecking you.

I am sure 2h Sword users are going to love not being able to use their new sword until they wait weeks until they level up their cape.

This is why the new “corruption” system is awful. Time gate to use items yay.

Blizzard liked having control over how players can play so much they decided to add a time gate to gear.

Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner folks!

I remember this LOL. Good times…

If you are lucky and get your N’zoth sword on day 1 you also will get, the following

Randomly get slowed
Voidzones appear under you dealing damage
Randomly get things from beyond try to kill you doing 33% of your HP to you.
Slows you even more by 70%

Equip any other piece of corrupted gear you get the takes more damage takes less healing debuff.

Benthic gear can’t become corrupted if I remember correctly.

It would be crazy to see people doing Benthic gear grind still in patch 8.3 to avoid corrupted gear LOL.

I find this number interesting. Either they don’t expect anyone to fully max the legendary cloak, or they expect Shadowlands to drop more than 30 weeks from now. Combined with the devs saying they haven’t fully decided on how gearing will work in Shadowlands, my guess is that they’re going to need the next 8 months to see how this works and then revise their Shadowlands plans accordingly.
