395/400 Item Level Emissaries: Yes please

I am now confused.

Akston, being pro-Elitism, thinks anything casual will kill the game, and when confronted about it, he lies using me lying to him. I.E, he lies about me lying.

Basically, Elitism is rich people/businesses with Citizens United controlling the White House, while Casuality/Casualism is basically shortening the gap between rich and poor with Wellfare who are too nice to be in power.

I.E, screw this divide and two party system.

im ilvl 394 with out any lfr or raid gear this will get me over 400 quickly…why raid again or deal with m+?

Yes, why bother with hard, hair-tearing content.

Once they are no longer the optimal gearing route, I can finally do them if I want to and not because I have to.

the only point to raiding is the title and xmog gear from it…lmao.im 394 with out any lfr or raiding.

they raid for titles and the xmog gear that you cant get for all that headache.

It should scale more with your current ilvl, being 395, I have no interest in doing these emissaries since I will get at MOST something 385. Not saying fresh 120s should have 395 it just needs to scale better and not cap at 385.

The last time raiding was the best way to get gear was WoD.

Except you won’t be able to because changes like these lower the number of groups available, and also greatly increase the requirements to get in these groups. Once this goes live you’ll see a bunch of heroic BoD pugs asking for 410 ilvl and AOTC.

When I run heroic pugs on my alts I’ll always invite people 10+ item levels lower with AOTC or mythic kills over the guy who is 405 with no achievements. Gear is completely meaningless as I’ve seen multiple people who are 400+ ilvl that can’t break 8k dps or move out of a mechanic.

Well this not only makes Heroic BFD totally irrelevant but also LFR/Normal Crucible and even M+10.

If I didn’t had the time or wasn’t into Mythic Raiding I really don’t know what content would be relevant to do since free gear beats everything short of Mythic Raiding gear.

And WOD sucked because of it.

BFA is too much like WOD, but not enough of what made Legion good.

  1. Wrath
  2. MOP
  3. Legion
  4. Cata
  5. BFA
  6. WOD

That is my list from what I played.

This. The gear is irrelevant and the titles/mounts are obtainable by anybody with a pulse during the following expansion(s).

The only reasons to raid right now are to play with your friends, and because the raids are fun.

The problem is, the raids AREN’T fun. Find me anybody who enjoys doing Mythic Ghuun or Mythic Jaina.

If Ion wants to remove gear, and make the fights horrible to experience, and have the titles/mounts be legacy so anybody can get them… what is the point in raiding? I’d love to hear him answer that question. Especially since it’s common on this forum to say “Ion only cares about mythic raiders!” when the truth is that he’s done nothing but poop on mythic raiders for a long time, now.

You say WoD sucked because raiding was the only way to get the best gear, then you list Wrath as your favorite expansion? Lol what??

???

I am happy I wasn’t the one to first point that out.

WoD sucked for a lot of reasons:

  1. A story about time travel to an alternate universe is stupid.
  2. The story content was front-loaded so you did it all while leveling.
  3. There was nothing to do outside of dungeons and raids, something I repeatedly pointed out during beta.
  4. It was the first round of ability pruning so our characters felt hollowed out (only a sign of what was to come, sadly).
  5. Lots of stuff was cut from the expansion (zones, etc.).
  6. For stuff like Tanaan, Blizzard stuck with the “Timeless Isle Model” which is to put in 50 things that drop at 1% drop rates off rare spawns… as if that was somehow fun.

But the gearing model was not an issue. The gameplay, and the things to play in the game, were the problem.

JP/VP, easy/fun/optional raiding, tons to do.

WOD did not.

A lot of people don’t remember how Wrath worked, and you seem to be one of them.

If you didn’t do ICC, for example, you were capped at 14 Emblems of Frost per week (2 per day for the Heroic dungeon daily x 7 days). The cheapest piece of gear was 60 Emblems of Frost.

So if you didn’t raid, you were looking at 1 piece of gear every 5 weeks.

If Blizzard wants to get people to play, they need to look at the systems that made WoW successful in the first place, like the BC/Wrath model. Because almost 10 years of vomiting free gear at the playerbase has done nothing but bring their game to death’s door.

Emblems of Frost was VP.

It was better than nothing.

This new WQ system seems to tickle my fancy, so I will do it whenever possible.

But the more options to gear up and eventually play, the better.

I am not against more options to gear up. I am against trivial options to gear up being too good.

No one is against variety in gearing options. But options should reflect difficulty. WoW has been drifting more and more to making it easier for everyone to get top quality gear with no work. And that needs to stop.

I’m against WOD’s paradigm of the hardest content being the only option.

VP/JP were introduced with Cataclysm.

Emblems of Frost were converted to VP with the Cataclysm pre-launch in version 4.0.1.

And look what a massive success Cataclysm was.
