There’s always just not buying the final tab.
I’m probably not going to just because I doubt I’ll need the room.

did they though? did they really? tokens originally started at 30k and at points dropped as low as 17k. the cost reflected available gold and if they kept available gold at those original levels? tokens would STILL cost that much and we wouldn’t have to keep getting those multi million costing gold sinks.
in case you didn’t know - people used to buy gold all the time before tokens. a LOT. the main difference was that they bought them from shady sellers, risking their account in a process.
Dang tooting …if you were smart during WoD and Legion and built an alt army you could make tons of gold a week with those mission boards…knows I was with 14 toons running boards every day for all those years…I walked away with millions in gold…
are we really splitting hairs like that? in this case quest rewards also come from thin air… never mind that they are capped by player participation. the complaint was made that blizzard just ADDS gold into the game with no player participation involved. there is a difference between someone spending hours in game, participating in game content and gold being generated in a second by blizzard that doesn’t come from any of those sources involving actual play.
so 2x a week go make your 12k and you end up with around 100k per month.
That’s how I do it.
I also spend the $20 about 1x per month to buy a token when I really want something and don’t want to wait.
on average I have about 1-2 million gold at any given time.
I’ve never tried to hit gold cap, the most I’ve ever had at one time I think was around 6 million.
Yes all those things brought in tons of gold to the game.
Yes I remember, but that was what they started out at and inflated ever since.
Right so how did those other things not help cause the inflation?
I’m well aware that the token was said to be added to stop third party gold selling which it has not.
Fun fact. It is unknown whether blizz was even gonna inform us as to the fact that they were discontinuing the bruto. It was only discovered by happenstance when a PTR tester was checking out the vendor and noticed it was missing.
I can’t play that much at once. Disabled/ visually impaired player. I can manage like 1 dungeon a day or a couple of world quests.
/takes a deep breath.
I’m saying that those things DID. NOT. NEED. TO . BE. ADDED. JUST. BECAUSE. TOKEN. WAS. you are trying to say that they had to allow those. I’m saying they absolutely did NOT have to allow those.
I think you misinterpret what I’m saying. I’m saying they allowed the things in the game that caused that inflation. They could have stopped that, turned it back, not let the inflation happen. They did let that happen, and didn’t realize the damage they did to the economy until it was too late.
I understand, I only play 1-2 days a week myself anymore.
selling the tokens gets you around 250K gold for $20.
if questing or selling tokens are not options, then your income in game are going to be very limited.
gathering and professions take much more time than either of those and aren’t guaranteed incomes.
I mean… I personaly spent years NOT paying for subscription out of pocket, heck when they added ability to convert tokens to bnet balance, I also used that gold to buy expansions AND several other bnet games (including Destiny 2 + DLC’s - about which I’m STILL salty about, damn you bungie and your vaulting >_>)
and because I and many MANY people did that is why I’m saying that blizzard should have never added those missions to begin with and the way they tried to curtail it by making what the hell are they called - equivalent of garrison supplies having to be earned from world quests rather then picked up couple of times a day from a chest - that did nothing. because gold missions were STILL there.
I agree with that, I’m just saying that the token is coincidental to that rather then a cause of it.
none of my garisons have had gold quests for ages.
I can’t remember when I saw one last.
I gave up on them because I hadn’t seen a gold quest in so long.
That’s only about 10 WoW tokens right now (about 300k ea), or $200!
Seriously, the only people who are going to buy this are whales.
I hate it when they design things around such people.
Does everybody need this? No.
Is it stupid to gate it behind that amount of money? Yes!
It’s on the same level of Diablo Immortal selling additional character slots, and stuff like that.
Oh. Well that’s far less of an issue than your title made me think. I doubt anyone will need them all right away. Just open them up as you need them.
all of the gold I made from them was during WOD. they removed them once expac was over, but back then… when you got 1k per mission on multiple alts, while tokens sold for 17 to 20k? a LOT of us stocked up. you could hold up to 10 tokens and you could redeem them for subscription and it took a while for them to stop going up in price. even when they went back up to 30k… and 50k and even 70k - by that point, there were other gold missions to replace garrison ones.
Yep Trustlvlfour I was here when all that came out in the forums here…I feel they wouldn’t have said a dang word to us if it hadn’t been found out in the PTR like it was found…also it was found that the achievement to buying it changed too…
Putting so much faith in what Blizzard claims is naive.
What if they add an achieve, a pet and a mount for the last tab? even worse if they throw in 500 tenders lmao.
