yeah, they got kicked because they weren’t giving much
or OP is the person who got kicked
But there is abuse of the vote kick. You may not have encountered it, but the abuse still exists.
I was in a TW dungeon during anniversary and got kicked for absolutely no reason. My DPS was consistently in the top two highest, I was keeping up with the group, and I never died… kicked. I have no idea why, never will.
So why should I get a deserter buff for that?
Some players just like the chaos and those of us who are genuinely doing well in the group and just trying to get through our five dungeons get the shaft.
There are times when this feature is absolutely necessary, but often it just gets abused.
We have no source to claim it’s often. Therein lies the issue.
Nor is there such a thing as abusing the system. The group voted to kick you. They had a reason. One that was valid or dumb or you didn’t agree with or didn’t realize, etc, but it’s a reason. And three to four of them hit yes.
I also don’t want to hear this crap about “people just hit yes to get a box out of their way” bs, because the no button exists as well. People can hit that just as easily.
If this was a majorly recurring issue, we would have seen a change. We have seen no change.
When the vote kick system was originally abused due to no debuff, they added the debuff to kicks a few months later.
When people were stupidly leaving a dungeon after the first boss over a trinket, they added the debuff to leaving at any point a few months later.
A few people come here to complain they got kicked “for no reason” and… no changes made in the decade plus since its inception.
There have been tweaks that were discussed to appease some of y’all, though.
- The debuff time was there to match how long dungeons take to run. They don’t take a half hour now. So lower it to 15 minutes.
- If people are somehow incapable of hitting the no button when they just want to get a box out of their face for a vote, then put a five second countdown on the yes button.
Or they don’t have the same type of movement abilities as the other classes.
What kind of answer is this?
A mage has 2 charges of Blink that can move them 40 yards in 3 seconds on a 30 second recharge… There’s no way they’re moving as fast as a team of DH, DK’s, Druids, Shaman, Rogues, hunters Ect… They just can’t physically keep up running down the hall because the game won’t let them. They don’t have the mechanics to physically keep up.
It has absolutely nothing to do with trolling or leeching or being afk and has every thing to do with simply not having the ability to move as fast as other classes.
Priests have the same issue with very limited mobility spells.
It is when it’s literally a game mechanic issue and not a social one.
If it’s a social vote, then yes, you’re right. But in this case it’s not. In this case it’s literally “I don’t have the mechanics built into my class to be able to move down the hallway as fast as your class can.”
That’s abuse of the system.
Note the names of the characters and put all of them on Ignore (best to use the Global Ignore addon so you can ignore them on all your characters). You will then hopefully not have to deal with them again.
Highly unlikely given the way the post is written and included details.
If they were the person that got kicked, how would they know the reason?
Would they also not just say “I got kicked for … reason?” (which they would have no way of knowing.
Blizzard doesn’t care, they clearly say you can boot people for fun, so have fun giving people 30 minute debuffs
Sadly this is basically correct. They’ve openly stated that groups can kick because they don’t like someone’s transmog, and by proxy they’re A-OK with people getting 30 minute bans from queues because someone didn’t like their transmog.
Unless the person is a DK consistently zoning into dungeons with DH / Monk / Evoker / Rogue, this isn’t widespread enough to warrant a thread, much less Blizzard action.
I was recently kicked from a TW dungeon of all things.
idk why, as soon as we dropped combat from the first boss I got kicked and so I just logged out.
I assume it was just for the fun of it.
No point in wasting 30 min of the hour I had to play on waiting to do the TW dungeons for the quest that night.
The 30 minute debuff was longer than it would have taken to run all 5.
I got other hobbies and RL things to do anyway.
Any reason is a valid reason, so long as the majority agree. Hence why it’s a vote to kick, sorry reality didn’t line up with your personal idea of what a “valid” reason looks like.
The majority don’t even read the pop up, they just click yes.
Things like this are why I’ve pmuch given up on group content.
Cite your source please
Yeah, the VTK box pops up in the middle of the screen and blocks your view. Unfortunately it’s much easier to click Yes automatically to get rid of the damn thing than to actually read it.
every group ever in any queueable content.
I take it you have never been in any queueable content in WoW?
Clicking no also gets rid of it, the idea that people are clicking yes just to get rid of it is a massive cope.
I’ve run a few thousand dungeons in my time
Still not sure where you’re getting the statistics that say most people don’t even read the popup
Just as easy to click no though isn’t it
So you are an expert on source citation requests?
Seriously how do you guys even come up with this “Source Please” non-sense.
How many times have you yourself just clicked yes and moved on?
Not when doing so just leads to you getting spammed more until you click Yes.
