I hope you get your gold back.
Will this week be the week?
With gold, and the fact they sell gold for real money, Blizz better be careful here. 3 million gold could be a year’s worth of game time or more, which means somebody that uses their gold to fund their game time could be losing $180 into thin air while Blizzard laughs about it. That could be considered fraud.
still missing the 300,000k+ from my warband bank. 10+ days - no response, no help, no gold.
They can’t recover all the gold…but they’ll release a mount giving you ungated access to the mailbox and the AH costing $90ish dollars…Seems strange, because then a lot of people would be spending money, rather than using on-hand in-game gold…
What a coincidence.
I’m starting to think the people who lost gold to warbanks or currencies to warband transfers or reputation and honor reset to nothing are all in the same boat as the guild bank deletion victims. Sure these were all caused by different bugs probably, but we’re all getting the same response. That being “we don’t have logs, we don’t keep backups of character data, we don’t restore things, we don’t talk to devs, we don’t take questions, buy more wow tokens and brutosaurs”.
In any other game this level of catastrophic data loss would be bar none the top priority to repair, restore, and compensate the afflicted players. Instead we get silence, apathy, and the growing sense that they’re just sweeping it all under the rug because who cares if they just threw thousands of players under the bus. We deserved better.
It seems a little fishy that they are so easily able to discover who abuses the in-game gold system to buy gold from gold farmers and seize/remove that gold and suspend the offending account, but they can’t figure out where gold went when you transfer it from YOUR warbank to YOUR character . . . ???
To be honest, I’m losing faith that they can/want to find either.
Update: Third ticket I finally got a response, they were able to restore half of what went missing (157,000) and wanted me to then open another ticket giving the character name who also deposited into warband bank. Waiting for that now
Just curious, what category did you file your ticket under to get thru to a real-life human being?
Outside of an initial self-help response, all tickets are handled by human beings.
that’s great news! I mean it doesn’t balance the scales back into Blizzard’s favour, when you look at all the other stuff that has disappeared recently and NOT been returned, but it does suggest that there is at least one person there (in a company of how many?!) who actually WANTS to help.
I mean, I have in game evidence of my Timewarped Badges they lost on me, but they refuse to replace those either. Blizzard doesn’t care. At all. WoW is too big to fail so they can have the worst customer service and get away with it.
wait, if you kept opening tickets about this issue that it would be against T.O.S? Sounds like the player base needs to take a stand against blizzard and start doing refund / charge backs on all purchases within the last 6-12 months and see how they like it for how they treat us. I can guarantee you that things would get fixed and that we the player base would get treated a lot better than what we are getting treated like now! Until then stay frosty my fellow players!
i did find that kinda strange that they released a $90 mount when players were having issues with their warband accounts. Sounds like blizzard is trying to milk as much as they can before the player base just gives blizzard the big F and moves onto a different game. Which in all terms i can honestly see happening within the next year or so if these issues keep happening and blizzards team of incompetent staff keeps telling the player base off like there are no issues that need to be brought to attention when in fact there are issues that are game breaking on so many levels its not even funny!
I am putting in another ticket as well then. Hopefully this time I get some help!
Blizzard GMs are pointless all they tell you is go on the forums
They told us to post here in bug reports on the guild bank deletion issue, then they lock and delete our threads. Its easier to ignore our issues here.
It is funny though GMs used to be able to restore items, repair bug damage, and escalate larger issues to quality assurance who can make sure bugs are documented and fixed. Now they can’t do any of these things, and we have to wait for mythical forum roaming devs to notice us and maybe figure out some kind of fix, likely involving backups that might not exist because who backs up player data these days.
The warbank deleted my BOE epic item valued at ~50k+ gold after using the bank-sort feature. A GM replied and told me “In general the Warbank doesn’t feature a ledger to track deposits or withdrawals.” Basically suggesting that I lost it and suggesting that they have no logs of player deposits/withdrawals which I find hard to believe. 50k gold isn’t much in the grand scheme but I still farmed for that item for weeks to get it.
The GM also said to me “There are no known Warbank issues at this time.” Which we know here this is simply not true.
I really sympathize with you all who lost massive amounts of gold, I hope you get it all returned!
I guess they are saying that pixels don’t have real value? Isn’t that THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF HOW THEY MAKE MONEY? Pixels have actual monetary value. It’s significant in this case! Makes me queasy how they can be this dismissive, incompetent, and irresponsible with our time and money given in good faith for a product they won’t make good on.
