3 days early access for 90$ (community discussion and poll)

D4 launch was pretty smooth.

Dragonflight was a bit messy for a few hours or so but not nearly as bad as many other releases in WoW’s history.

It doesn’t matter. Personally, I’d pay many times the price to add to the boxes on my collectors edition shelf. 3 extra days of garbage time to level (when leveling takes 10 hours, tops) while every endgame activity is locked means so little, I can’t imagine it worth getting heated over at all.

I don’t understand the venom. Where’s the advantage? I guess you could level 3 more days worth of toons for splits, but that’s probably only relevant for like 40 people in the world, none of them on this forum.

TBH I hope you never do because if someone like you " I’d pay many times the price to add to the boxes on my collectors edition shelf" does become aware of this as a problem my guess is that many of us will be looooong gone.

Bought the base package for $50. Wanted the boost and it was cheaper than a boost on the shop.

May use gold to upgrade to the epic package later. I don’t care about the 3-day early access though. Doubt I will even use it.

For M Plus and PvP 3 days is a big problem unless they disable gearing for 3 days…

Then you don’t have a strong understanding of human nature in general.

Even perceived slights make people mad. Trying to rationalize the actual value of a 3 day early start in the long-term is what Blizzard probably would like everyone to do so they can look better, but it’s not going to work. The hate now is nothing compared to what it will be in a year when the game is about to actually come out. Consider this a minor sneak-peak.

Players also are already paying $15 a month for this game on top of box prices and many have put thousands of dollars into this game for years. We made Blizzard what it is today and treating some of their long-term players like second class citizens so they can make even more money is a disgusting way to treat the customers that made you into the company you are today.

My thoughts exactly. Just wait until Blizzard learns that they can arbitrarily label anything as “early access” and get people to pay. If they have whales and minnows alike paying 20$ every time there’s a patch to play it a week “early” it won’t matter how many of us with good sense quit. They’ll still be making more money off their captive audience.

Show me a slope Blizzard hasn’t slipped down…

This isn’t about if you can “Afford” the pack it’s about being able to spot a Grift… Blizzard is playing a long Con… and many players still think they can win at cups…

By the first extended maintenance day everyone will have completely forgotten about 3-day early access :dracthyr_lulmao:

They already said the season doesn’t start week 1. No PvP. No m+. No raid. All you can do is level. You don’t even get any extra world quest resets or anything. Literally, just 3 extra days to finish something that takes 10 hours.

The entire thing is a nothing burger.

Blizzard disagrees with you or they wouldn’t have stuck it exclusively into the most expensive pack.

They know it will not be viewed as nothing and will entice a lot of extra sales of that pack.

I have no problem with early access. At most people can level up a little sooner depending on how well the game is actually working the first 3 days.
I already bought it.

Hey man (or lady), this is WoW general forums, not typically known for their stellar IQ.

Warthin? Thinking that SL had a lot of content, stuck in the past with WotLK thinking it was the best expansion ever, the list goes on.

Should be taken out of the pack, most obvious integrity issue of modern video game design and if this is coming in the new expansion it is going to be one of the worst to come out. They haven’t even released enough content to warrant the release of an expansion.

Already unsubscribed.

Yes, that’s the entire point. They shouldn’t have it at all.

So you admit, it’s a perceived slight, and a small one. All this outrage is what? Prophylactic? It’s called the “Slippery Slope Fallacy” for a reason.

3 days is nothing, and I won’t be paying for anything but the base game.

I understand that the long-term value is minor and not worth $25, but I also understand that it is a completely unnecessary BS thing to do in a game where for 20 years many players have all started on the same day.

I understand that it’s a gross greedy and unnecessary practice that should get major pushback.

I understand that the pushback now is nothing compared to what it will be the closer we get to launch.

Just as I told them the phone change was going to get major backlash in OW long before it actually got major backlash. They went through with it anyway, THEN tons of people came to the forums to complain about it and they finally backtracked and exempted OW1 players from the new requirement.

Maybe I’m ahead of my time again, but I promise you the backlash to this is going to be far crazier than it is now right before early access starts if they don’t offer some free promo alternative to fix it.

So it’s not a big deal, but people are going to get mad about it so we should change it?

I’m generally against protecting people from themselves, but I’m 1000% sure of enough people are mad about it, blizzard will change it because at the end of the day, they’re a business and it makes sense to cater to people.

But, if they don’t make that adjustment, will people (not the clueless and gullible masses you want to protect, I mean rational thinking beings, such as yourself) admit that slice of the population wasn’t big enough to move the scale?
