did a game versus an arms warrior and casted 27 shadowmends over the first 3 minutes of the fight and never got my team mate above 40%. even with the trinkets being nerfed, they still favor some specs heavily.
I stopped last season at about 2150cr after leveling this priest in december. Every match at 1800 feels like a struggle. Losing so many matches to lack of mana is just terrible design. Can’t even last 3-4 minutes with a dk or warrior on me or my team mate. The amount of effort to heal is just absurd. This is frustrating and disheartening.
I wish they would just get rid of disc damage and make casting heals actually worthwhile. Or… fix how shields and cd’s interact with necrotic and MS. makes 0 sense why necrotic ignores shields as a heal, yet shields are affected by MS? pick one.
I haven’t played much of it. Only second time cue’ing with feral. I know it’s a pretty good comp. So good that I have seen 0 other people playing it. But only have done 140 games, so small sample size.
Payback on Disc for pre-patch and early bfa days where they chased killed 2- 3 dps at once in wpvp situations lol. But yeah arenas suck right now, I play my lock and literally spend half the time in matches fearing and peeling melee DPS off my heals or they flop. It’s not just DISC, I played with a ex-glad level druid (resto) on my lock demo and we did decent but i noticed melee would be wrecking him if I wasn’t peeling every 20-30s especially like rogues.
I was less geared than him on my resto druid dabbling in arenas, and cpuld say nothing little miserable trying to heal in bfa seems. Played my 364ilvl ret with a Unholy DK and had to laugh at how healer melted with no peels and I literally hasn’t played ret since early Legion in Arenas. And the dk I was with hadn’t been above 1800 rating, even I had to admit it was a bit sily.
All things aside man, the point of the post was just saying in almost 30 games I saw almost nothing but warriors and dks. I’m not saying rogue/priest or feral/priest is bad by any means. It’s pretty clear both dk and warrior are very strong in 2s. Enough that either other people aren’t wanting to play against them, or they are just getting dominated and forced into the lower brackets.
I didn’t change anything about my playstyle from last season. That’s somewhat the point. With the small nerfs disc got for 8.1 and now the continued buffs some of the melee specs are getting, the game feels lopsided for some matches. While the trinkets have also been nerfed, they are still very strong additions during a burst, or when I’m sitting in a stun. When both a the dps and the healer have them, it’s a lot for disc to heal through.
Also, dk/war + pali just wrecks rogue/priest if they set it up right. Can just hoj the priest and repent them while the rogue sits in a stormbolt or aphyx.
That’s the part that is the most frustrating. The games I played last night I just was ooming extremely quick. I have tried stacking either damage or healing to see what’s the most efficient and neither seems to matter. I don’t use radiance because the cost is so high, but no other instant heals out of stuns with necros is tough… So If i do take radiance, it means the game is on a much shorter timer.
I just don’t understand why disc should have so many issues with mana. So many games come down to just being oom. And we aren’t even 3-4 minutes into the game in some cases.
What’s even worse is juking kicks these days is almost unrewarding. In the time it takes me to fake a couple casts, I’m already that much more behind in healing. If I fake twice and then get kicked, I just flop. So if i’m 40% or higher, I may just cast and draw the kick so I can heal… Juking in the past as been so much more crucial. Now your contending with 5-6 interupts just to get off shadow mend. such a joke.
you actually saying MW are less efficient then disc?
use your port to get drinks off if you’re ooming. you’re the most mobile healer by a mile. get your team mate topped and let them peel. one of the huge advantages for MW is the fact they have huge heals to recover even after a quick drink.
