26 hours later, and still

Anyone who has played WoW any length of time knows that there are very few hard and fast rules spelled out to the finest point. Why is that? Because the player base is forever changing and adapting, so they must too. AV, for instance was created with how it was intended to be played. So was Blackrock Depths. Over time, players found short cuts and alternate ways to get from start to finish with less effort. Whether Classic or Retail, in instances folks will charge in, pull a quarter of the instance, AoE it down and move on to the next pull. AV has suffered that same forced adaption over time. The player base has shifted and the majority apparently now feels that people sitting in towers are in the wrong and are reported for being AFK.

Now, I absolutely agree that Blizzard themselves need to be more transparent about these shifts to keep people in the know. They really dropped the ball on that and communication as a whole, save for the poor SFAs that are here in the front lines trying to handle everyone storming here and blasting them for something they had no part in.

I feel like spinning the flag would show up as a participating activity.

I remember back during the first classic AV revival anniversary event, there were a whole lot of people saying that they were reported as being AFK but they weren’t actually. They swore that they participated all the time and claimed they were being auto-banned or Blizzard wasn’t recognizing defense as a legitimate strategy.

And then I think back to how in every single one in the tons of matches that I did, there were people hanging out on the edges of the map, trying to get so far out that they would barely show up for people looking at the map, or sitting inside objectives that no one ever went for. Or sitting on top of their boss’s bunker, and not even coming down to defend when the enemy team showed up. It was up to like ten people in every single match.

I haven’t played WotLK Classic AV, but I suspect that a lot of the same shenanigans are going on. Never by the people insisting on their innocence, of course. It’s always those other guys doing that. And people in those BGs are probably getting frustrated at the non-participants, and are doing a lot of reporting. And Blizzard is handing down harsh bans to curb the behavior.

Dude, just stop. Blues have said it, IN THIS VERY THREAD. You’re just arguing to argue at this point.

If you were suspended, appeal it. If you did nothing wrong, it will be overturned. If you want to see the rules changed, post in the PvP forum.

Everything else is is just noise, and it’s always going to end with the threads getting locked.
