$25 (taxes in) a month is just too much, i just cancelled my subscription

That was my first thought as well, But apparently that isn’t an option or something.

i got this pen i bought for 50cents i could sell you for 20 bucks - wont break you after all!

thats not how you get rich homie

It’s because of your Countries taxes… not anything to do with Blizzard.

You can use PayPal in Canada, which can be linked to your debit, to set up a subscription.

I wouldnt buy a 50cent pen for 20. But if it was a 17 dollar pen and I liked it, i would buy it at $20. You example is moronic, but do love that you tried it.

Yes I mentioned that in my previous post. Thats how i do it currrently. But that doesnt help the subset of the population that cant link the required accounts or backup payments to become a verified account.

i think if you pay more than the value no matter how rich you are, it’s dumb.
quesiton of principle.

but youre free to overpay for your stuff if it makes you feel cool , i wont lose any sleep over it.

Its a great pen and I want it. OK… Ill go 22. Thats it!

…and it doesnt make me cool. It gets me the pen I want.

I sort of feel like they are trying to strong arm us canadians into hitting the sub button just so they can lay claim to more sub numbers.

K actually this works now. I have my debit cards under my other house address was the issue… Okay OP I guess youve got options so good news for you.

So get a visa or mastercard? They give those things to anyone, even if your credit is spotty. Then just pay it off each month from your checking account so you don’t incur interest.

Also, quite frankly, it never hurts to have a CC in case of an emergency. I can’t count the number of times a CC saved my butt (ex, unexpected car repair I did not have enough cash to cover but had to be done right then as I need my car to be able to even do my job!).

Please please, my fellow Canadian (?) - subscription prices are NOT affected, your sub price is the same - only thing that got bumped was the game time prices, I suppose if you want to buy a game time gift card or something. If you have a subscription, it’s the same as before.

Only individual game time went up. Subs are the same price. Chill, us Canadians will be just fine.

I have many and my credit score is 839 which according to Transunion is better than 80% of Canadians. Im simply looking at this from an economic standpoint and how it will affect others. If this works with regular bank cards now than really this just affects kids under 18 at this point or folks that dont want thier CC on the web with how much sites get hacked? But on principal there is no reason to increase the price in the first place as the CAD has been 78 cents since 2004. So im with the Op on that, that this makes no sense.

The conversion rates between Canadian dollars and US dollars hasn’t changed meaningfully in over a decade. So the idea that they’re doing this because the conversion rate says they should isn’t accurate. It’s the same in the EU where they raised the price even though the Euro has a higher exchange rate than US dollars (current rate is 1 Euro = 1.23 USD)

And the exchange rate is almost exactly the same now as it was when the game launched (same with the AUD vs USD). So I’m starting to think this really was just a cynical cash grab and that NA might be next.

think i heard argentina also got an increase… so its rolling out to more and more markets

there’s no reason or rhyme to this aside from trying to suck up more money.

the question is… will we just flail our arms a little bit and take it anyways? probably.

FeelsBadMan.

if there were more decent mmos competing with each other this wouldnt be an issue. youre seeing the effects of pseudo-monopoly.

Welp, soon as it gets here I’m done. Shadowlands is fun but it hasn’t really hooked me like past expansions. And when streaming services are cheaper than WoW and other games have no sub or are literally free I can’t justify paying more than the current sub for WoW.

Who the hell is buying game time cards?
