I think for longevity no OCE is a good thing. Some of us already play on Whitemane (Era). Be prepared for them to not include OCE like at all - as per blue post.
The real issue is we don’t know if it’s East or West for US - it’s not going to be amazing if we’re forced East… so fingers crossed the servers are West.
I am worried that Blizz will take the easy path and not have OCE realms going forward for new classic releases.
It feels so much better to play on a local server.
Just because an OCE servers might die in a year’s time and need to be merged isn’t a good reason to not have a local server for that year imo.
The Blue post didn’t state no OCE. They stated what the realm names would be, this means that the realms will have the same names in NA and EU… Possibly, in OCE as well.
I refuse to play WoW unless it’s on local servers, it’s absolutely garbage playing on NA

Yes please, even if its just the one. PvP, PvE, i honestly dont care which just give us an option to play on a local server.
While I get it I’m Aussie too but we have to be real with it and they did not include us in the announcement. We either put up with it or don’t play.

To be fair you’re speaking from 1 aspect. Looking at data from ironforgepro there is 4.2k players still active over there raiding.

Again - The blue post does not explicitly exclude OCE Realms. It could be that the Realms simply have the same names across all regions, NA, EU and OCE.
OCE realms fall under US region. Based on the bluepost we are not getting OCE servers. And to all the people saying they prefer to play on US realms are part of the problem.

I just created a char on a US server seeing as a lot of people say there isn’t much of a difference, but personally for me 180ms - it feels gross. Looting, Autos, Opening quests, spells. So yeah, as much as I’m fiending for classic fresh, will be a skip for me if we’re stuck on US.
It’s pretty bad to not launch with even at least one OCE server, I hope Blizzard doesn’t commit to this. Especially as they keep increasing our sub fee.
I already play with US folks on Whitemane? It’s no different? 160ms yes, I get 15 to our servers.
Perhaps you’re slower than I am. I’m almost 47, and adding 140ms+ (Best case scenario btw) still slows me WAY down.

(I would want an OCE server too) all I’m trying to say is: be prepared for the fact if you WANT to play Fresh there MAY NOT BE an OCE SERVER to play on.

Bruh the point of the forum thread is to ask for an OCE server because it was unlikely based on their announcement.
