Hello dear Blizzard Representative/s.
I’ve just resubscribed my account so that I could post this, adding my voice to the chorus calling for a commitment to OCE regionally located server/s for the upcoming 20th anniversary edition.
I’ve played WoW since actual vanilla, and my love for the game from Vanilla through to WoTLK, and therefore my excitement at the re-release of “Fresh” realms has been palpable. Discussions between my friends and I, as well as my son, have been energetic the last few days, with discussion about which class we’re going to play and whether we’ll roll on PvE or PvP this time.
My concern at this stage is that there’ll be no regional support for us OCE players. I played on US servers back in the day, and as an IT Infrastructure Engineer in my profession, argued very heavily for OCE based servers even back then. I remember when they were originally announced, and I remember when it was announced that classic in 2019 was to have OCE based servers, my friends and I were thrilled!
With regards to the 20th Edition re-release, I’ve seen no official comment from Blizzard with regards to whether there will be OCE based servers like there was for classic. Whilst some people may argue the answer is self-evident (Seemingly argued in both directions), we haven’t received servers for everything (such as hardcore realms for example).
I am champing at the bit to relive classic, all the way through TBC and perhaps even WoTLK again, but I will likely not do so if there aren’t any OCE based servers to play on. Yes, I feel that strongly about it, and I know that at least some of my friends feel the same way.
I implore you to release OCE based realms, preferably for all 3 modes.
Regards,
An Aussie WoW player who has played for much of the last 20 years.
UPDATE: 21st Nov
Blizzard as of this morning (AEDT) has announced an OCE PvP Server called Maladath. Look forward to seeing many of you there!
