Love this tactic. "I think it so everyone else must too, if you don’t then you’re the wrong one. "
That’s what they said…so now we have catch-up mechanics part and parcel of the base game
To put it in retail terms, every pre-expansion period offers major catch-up for players. The devs now include catch-up mechanics between point releases. This 1.12 version is that catch-up mechanic period before TBC was released.
By the 2nd phase, when honor is introduced, we’ll effectively be playing Classic with Benthic gear.
You might have a point with AQ and Naxx, but MC was never hard.
By everyone I mean only people who aren’t completely delusional classic fanboys
You’re still boxing a bunch of people together. Not everyone enjoying Classic are “delusional classic fanboys”. Different people enjoy different things. Get over yourself and stop trolling.
So a group of people who have been playing classic for years and have access to things players in 2004-06 didn’t got some bosses down, and that leads you to believe the players that didn’t have that access were bad?
Now, if you told me that a whole bunch of players who never played classic and just started in BFA got the boss down in that amount of time, I might
Players were bad back then, compared to now.
Sorry, but even on Manaflask former members of Ensidia, DnT, Drama ect all said the same thing.
“We didn’t really know what we were doing”
This discussion isn’t even relevant to you if your just BFA fanboying. Why even go onto the classic forums other then troll? I want to contribute to the conversation and hear actual constructive opinions that could possibly and hopefully lead to a more authentic experience for the classic player then they’re doing their end game raid prep / progression.
It feels less like you actually have a real point to make, and more like you just want to insult people to keep an overinflated sense of ego high.
You can have an opinion… but the truth is, 98% of the playerbase in 2004 through at least the launch of BC had NO idea how to work together much less how to learn how to approach any one particular encounter with a raid boss. 1 in 100 players EVER saw endgame raids. So yes, as a whole, the playerbase was exceptionally bad for no other reason than experience. Few players had the skill set to raid so few players raided. The players that DID actually raid consistently and successfully were few and far between (relative to the total population of wow at that time).
Rather than feign outrage at the idea that players back then were bad, revel in the idea that if you were raiding back then, you’re a 2%er.
I made multiple real points. Its hilarious you say im insulting when thats all the classic fanbase does if you critique it.
look at an average pre-built computer in 2004 compared to the pre-built computers we have now in 2019.
you can’t even experience the game the same way anymore unless you just happen to have a 20 year old computer sitting in storage and even then, you have to get the modern 2019 bnet client to work so you can launch classic wow.
Our computers, monitors, knowledge of the game, years of practice with the 1.5 second GCD rotation combat style, everything is newer and more advanced now.
4 and a half days to get enough guild members to down Ragnaros and Onyxia. I think they said something like 8 hours played at level 60 by the time they had both raids down.
8 hours played at level 60 and they already have the endgame content done.
I knew the classic buble would burst but 5 days in oh man this is so fun to read.
Does anyone when it’s new content? I knew it wouldn’t be the same as 2004 - 06 and private server guilds would smash it. But to say that the reason why it was such a huge difference in gear requirement from then to now is solely due to “Bad players” carrying worse players is a ridiculous sentiment. There is obviously other factors in play, and we know at least 1 of those factors that could have been avoidable and is avoidable for future content.
CC still works and makes runs a lot smoother.

Perhaps you did, and even if thats the case, the moment you devolve into insults, passive agressive or otherwise, dont be surprised when people call you out on it.
As much as you may feel your opinion is correct, the moment you start insulting others is the moment you self defeat what you are trying to say. People opinions are often emotionally based, not factual, and insults show how deep in emotion your opinion really is no matter how much you try and argue otherwise.
Most definitely. My point was simply that in a typical run, if 1 or 2 of the group are competent, they can pick up the slack for the rando mob pulling pets, and Rockbiter using shaman.
You should change it 2004-2006 players of your generation were bad.
Sorry, but 24 hour AVs and Barrens chat were never cool.
Neither was chuck norris.
Blasphemy!
Also people make the argument that classic was easy, because you only needed to press ~3 buttons in your rotation. Which it was with some exceptions for top end progression pushing gameplay for some classes. If that’s the case how can skill make such a drastic difference? It doesn’t take much skill to maintain 3 buttons.
