Ya I think that’s the main problem and it could be many different reasons person to person. People can argue about raid sizes and whether that’s how it was in vanilla or not… it won’t really matter once it becomes nearly impossible to do any raid content due to lack of players.
Bro go touch some grass and stop complaining about the 20man size, wow is a MMO if you or your group don’t want to make new friends to fill these spots go play something else, a single player game or w/e
Go to play dungeons then wow is a MMO
Its gonna happen no matter what, even in ST you can solo tank it mostly. This just because of the pharsing community and making fights faster. SO 40 mans will use 1-2(3) rarely. Just how it is.
This is the worst logic I’ve ever heard, you can’t think an idea out just like you can’t commit to reaching 70.
20-man raids are not the worst thing in the world. When TBC came out and we had 25-man raids in the endgame, most people were psyched about it. Granted, many were coming from the world of 40-man raids and 25 seemed like a breath of fresh air. Still, I think we are right there in the sweet spot (i.e., 20 or 25). Anything more than that just feels excessive, for several reasons. Not least among these reasons is trying to coordinate the actions of 40 people (counter to Aggrend’s recent post on difficulty of raids in SoD; TLDR is “we want raids to be easy for everyone”) and trying to get 40 people to clear time in their life schedules. On that last point, keep in mind that SoD has a much older player base.
My guild was 10man and we decided not to merge for sunken temple. We didnt get any recruits from posting on this site and we didnt post recruiting macros in chat.
What we did was add pugs, clear 8/8 every week, and offer permanent spots at the end of the night.
People want to return to successful runs that dont have a lot of hassal and even though our runs had to figure out which loot method worked best, I think people generally understand when a guild has hiccups they intend to fix vs. Hiccups they dont intend to fix.
We have over 20 people now so om just thankful some people are taking time off for irl stuff.
These are the worst types of tanks, the “ego tanks”.
SoD is even less normal classic.
Era’s the closest you’ll get without private servers which good luck I guess?
Doesn’t change the fact the game moved away from 40 man raids for a reason (And a good reason at that) you still have those options available to you if you enjoy carrying 15-25 people through a raid.
I’ll never understand how people find 40 man raid content enjoyable. I already didn’t like 25 man content in TBC and Wrath (Unfortunately it was mechanically enforced due to better items / being the only raid content)
I know this.
Yeah here’s hoping they start doing progressive Vanilla servers.
You can still do level up raids with your friends whenever you want. They are still there!
Because this is classic, not retail. If you want those things retail is there for you. We raid 20 and 40 man here, get used to it and find a guild with leadership that will recruit to fill a roster.
Good news brother
I just heard Cata classic is going to have 10 man raids!!!
Yes brother! Me and my guild are probably moving to cata, depending how good the raids are I might stick to it.
I am messing around a bit, but I will be honest since you were.
Cata is great at first. You and your mates will have a blast. Most folk dont really remember why they hate cata. I have my theories (blizzard on holiday mid expansion ), but the first phase is fun. I will bet my gold on it.
GLHF
These are the types of people force other people play what they dont want because of pharsing
and an bigger group are designed to make everyone less important, not just tanks…
Sounds like you were in a guild where your interests didn’t align.
Sod/era/tbc/wotlk are so easy, that many if not most players need to find alternative path’s of difficulty, be that parsing or speedrunning.
You might not have needed that difficulty buff, but clearly the rest of your guild did. Theres a reason someone else is now the tank and you aren’t, I’m guessing they pump on the meters while you show up in full mitigation dad spec and don’t.
You’re in the wrong guild.
Post on your sod char trashcan
Hasn’t killed my guild, but the long lock out and 20m is making it boring when we full clear in under 2 hours.
Ok, Brother Pewpsalot brings up a good point. Maybe lockouts should be reflected in the raid sizes themselves.
I propose the following solution for when I am king of Blizzard
40 mans have a 4 day lockout
20 mans will have a 2 day lockout
10 mans will have a 1 day lockout
Each version will have different gear item levels as well.
