197 iLevel Cap Casual PVP

What is this handicap?

If someone attained the rank of gladiator, they have the skill and ability to stomp a noob in 226 gear.

Do you disagree? :stuck_out_tongue:

Or you think gladiators are newbs who are useless without gear?

Can someone explain this logic to me:

“OMG gladiators are facing hardships due to previous scaling in BFA after earning their gear through skill against noobs who don’t know anything”.

Apparently this is what Clark and Yesuna mean.

Because he doesn’t PvP, lol.

PvP gear should be normalized across the board for everyone in randoms or rated.

But it is fun to just completely stomp as a 224 Ret Paladin.

It’s amazing to see the arguments come full circle over the years.

PvP started with fresh characters getting stomped and run through a meat grinder and the complaints were that is bad.

We migrated though more accessible PvP gear and then scaling to lessen and almost eliminate the gear gap and we got complaints that scaling feels terrible and there is no progression in an MMO game. BFAs scaling got hammered pretty hard.

So now we are back to gear mattering and geared players killing lower geared players and the same complaints from back then are back in SL.

His definition of a gladiator is basically:

A player who earns their rating and gear only to be stomped by a noob who doesn’t know anything but the noob has gear.

Something that you keep refusing to understand that it existed in BfA so maybe I’ll help you understand it more

So basically, blizzard is letting us see the big juicy PvE hits we do, but in reality, its all an illusion

Better geared players saw that they did the damage, but on the enemies side they actually weren’t they were getting hit for less because what PvP scaling did in BfA

The conclussion im drawing from all this is that PvP templates are not gone. Gear is “more” important now,but a fresh 120 in instanced pvp is almost like a geared 330 character.

So during BfA better geared players meant nothing because they were doing less damage to a fresh geared player

But the fresh geared player was doing better damage towards the geared player

So now that’s gone, PvP power in gearing is what it’s supposed to be

If WoD system worked well, why the game moved away from it? It kept gear progression and there were no huge item lvl gaps as right now.

I’ll take a page out of Ion’s book because it’s actually true for once:

“Honestly, that’s a skill issue”.

Are you actually saying elite gladiators who know what skill to use instinctively got roflstomped by people just because they had scaled gear?

Are these guys even worthy of being called gladiators? Or are they just boosted noobs?

Gladiators in BfA? Probably not

Gladiators in Shadowlands that they will get their season titles soon? Yes they are truly good players

When I first started the game I was envious of the players in good gear. I had no guild, I didn’t know anyone in-game, I had nothing. Brand new player. Good players inspired me to play better and earn spots in raid teams.

I just can’t imagine thinking on the lines of degrading someones effort because I didn’t want to improve myself. This is the same line of thinking by someone who wants to “spread the wealth” from people who are successful and work hard in life, earning them a nice life, while the one wanting to “spread the wealth” sits at home all day complaining about how nothing is fair and blaming others for their own failures. That is an unhealthy line of thought.

No, because they missed the basic premise of the OP and inserted their own. They only have about 5 dialogue options programmed so they choose whatever loop best fits the thread they are replying to, even if it doesn’t at all.

I’m fine with the WoD PvP scaling, but I guess it’s quite the assumption that many felt it worked well.

And it still had a meat grinder aspect before you got geared.

I feel all honor gear should be 213 in PvP and all conquest gear 226 in PvP and rating should only be for its PvE item level.

But I’m sure people will complain about that too like anything else.

a lot of r1 don’t like this system but then we have people who are no where near their lvl, including me, who think this system is fine like this clark dude lmao

“Good Players” who suddenly become useless when everyone’s scaled to their level.

LMAO

If you think someone in PvP is “useless” if their ilvl were brought down this expansion for earning their gear and not being carried then you haven’t done any rated PvP and have no idea what you’re talking about. Hitting something basic like 1800 is a real 1800 this expansion, you should find out.

Because it catered fresh players then? It literally demoralized reasons to even get better gear when you were artificially handicapped to not upset the casuals

Then you should agree with my argument:

If they are good enough, they’re good enough. If players are brought to their level, their skill and experience will be the deciding factor in them getting better over their lesser skilled opponents.

So you agree that your “Good players” are in fact handheld little babies who can’t do anything without gear.

You have no idea how a real gladiator plays. They are far better than your so-called “good” players.

Early release day or home schooled?

But I thought skill is important. Why so much reliance on gear from rated, if you want to win non-rated. Shouldn’t skill be important?
