With the old pvp gearing system they had that was basically the same from wotlk - wod, you were still VERY MUCH able to have a gear advantage over people… a full conquest geared char vs a full honor geared char back then was still a 1-3shot dumpster.

Gear advantage is fine, because non rated players can slowly work towards having that same gear and not be forever at a disadvantage. My issue with this system is that once the unrated players have slowly gotten their laughable 200 ilvl conquest gear, its basically meaningless

Honor gear could be 197 and scale to 213 in pvp, and conquest gear could be 213/220 and scale to 226 in pvp depending how generous you’re feeling

213 to 226 is perfectly acceptable as a gap until they get their conquest gear. 200 to 226 is not

Yes. Pvp players didn’t get anything previously and now we got the honor vendor we wanted and it’s still not good enough.

Reality check we had honor vendors from BC to Legion, you want to talk about someone being new it’s clearly you because someone that’s been playing since then would have known that and not act like it’s new.

I’m not dictating anything. I’m explaining how the developers have designed the systems in the current game and have explained in an interview they aren’t changing it.

I haven’t bothered reading this thread but I will say this.

In a MMORPG it is very hard to make gearing fair. But what is more important is balance. Systemlands gearing in PVE and PVP is not balanced which is why we are seeing changes in patch 9.1!

Your post read as a i want my conquest gear to delete other people’s conquest gear, when conquest gear should be the same or at the very least so close people don’t get deleted over it

Dude check my profile. My item level is 214. I am middle of the road when it comes to conquest gear. I have no problem when a 226 glad shows up in a BG and deletes people. He worked hard for that gear. More power to them. It makes random BG’s chaotic and spicy. That’s what I like about that content. I just want gear to matter in PvP like it does in PvE. And no, having one set of honor and conquest gear is not enough because its too easy to get the good set and you have little motivation to push rating after that.

Thats unfortunately the new pve mindset plaguing current pvp and ruining it. Pushing rating rewards cosmetics and ladder position which is plenty

PVP is about skill and team cooperation.

Not anymore, now it’s about having the best gear. That’s the problem. There’s no skill involved in 1-shotting others.

I didn’t play legion because i hated templates

I did however play cata mop and wod and like many others loved the availability of only having two sets of pvp gear
Rating on certain pieces is whatever, rating on entire sets is gross

Edit: removed wrath because most of my experience there was non endgame so irrelevant

Casual PVP should have scaling at 60 like it does from 10-59 PVP. I had more fun while leveling up in pvping then end game PVP. Either that or go back to PVP power/resil on gear. They are bringing back scaling gear like we had in WoD but I dont think it will fix the problem of how painful it is to even gear as a new player or alts mid season.
