197 iLevel Cap Casual PVP

Nah, it’s common sense. Once again, chicken feathers.

I’m talking competitive men’s soccer. D1 players cannot go play d2. I’d still be surprised if schools let students do that, even internally. You don’t want your players going down and getting injured.

It doesn’t happen in Canada. Big schools play vs big schools. Regardless, why are we talking about schools which are restricted by location.

Let’s look at actual competitive men’s sports. You’re not seeing pro players showing up in amateur games wearing their kit while everyone else wears runners. Literally only happens in wow

It’s all for the boosting and sales of WoW tokens, sadge.

Sand bag games to lower rating =get games you want

I have literally hosted and run golf tournaments where pro players show up and use their custom made golf bag (that has now actual retail value because literal rocket scientists designed a 1 of 1 product specifically for them) and they play against guys who bought something from Dick’s sporting goods.

There are a dozen issues with the current system. WoD gearing fixes almost none of them.

Lol so no ones allowed to have fun in unrated pvp with a gears char because a small amount of people actually buy boosts? You’re not makin any sense bud.
Especially since youre tryna compare participating in unrated pvp on a geared char with ganking people 40 levels lower lmao I’d love to see your main

If item level was not a factor in PvP this xpac I’d re sub. In fact I love that so much it shouldn’t be a thing at all for PvP

I can guarantee you 75% of the player base that still plays is either boosters or getting boosted. Literally only a quarter of the players play normal

i could not agree more with op, imo all pvp gear should scale even in BGs/arena (not wpvp) and let the players skill dictate the outcome of the game.

Agreed! I’ve thought for a while about how they could actually improve PvP experience so there’s some actual balance in it; and it seems that item level is one of the big factors that tends to really throw things off balance.

A friend I talked to about it recently mentioned something about ‘brackets’ which sounds like what you’re trying to suggest here. It would at least ensure that newcomers to PvP don’t just get absolutely destroyed outright; at most they’ll have a 15 ilvl difference if they’ve done a bit of gearing before going into PvP.

There’s other factors, I think. Class balance and things like covenant powers but, a proper ilvl bracket system for different modes of PvP might be helpful.

A fundraiser or qualifier? Wouldn’t be a very good golf tournament.

How does a golf bag give an advantage in play? In fact tournies where pros play with amateurs are usually based on a handicap where amateurs are given advantage so they actually have a chance of winning. Get this… Because suprise suprise… They wouldn’t ever play if they never had a chance of winning.

So again. Why are we giving the better players gear advantage? Football pros don’t play barefoot amateurs. Only happens in wow. What a joke.

Well at this point it’s 100X better than the current system I assure you. Before or after blizzards half implementation of it.

I don’t think you’ve tried to gear an alt unassisted in BGs lately.

Is that different from casual arena with guildies?

Random BG’s would get extremely boring if they capped ilvl. WoW PvP is fun precisely because you can earn good gear and delete someone. It just makes me giggle every time.

You don’t need skill for 2400 rating. You need gold. Farming that much gold is considerably less effort.

You can earn better gear in rated pvp than in casual random bgs. You can delete people in rated pvp. You can get better mounts, achievements and armor sets in rated pvp. Why cant casual pvp be good for casuals if they get so little rewards for their effort? At least make the experience good for them.

Its very common for new level 60 players to jump into pvp with their busted ilvl 140 character and get stomped on by a 226 player. So the difference in ilevel can be as large as 86 levels or as low as 29.

Or as Ion would put it a 29%-86% power level difference if every item level is a 1% power level difference.

These are massive and I think such changes should only be applicable in rated pvp.

By limiting casual random battle grounds to scaled down item level 197 we reduce the difference from 86% to around 57% while allowing casuals to reduce the 57% down to 0% with effort and skill. Should they wish to further increase their item level and get the competitive pvp rewards they can go to ranked pvp. Should they be happy at 197 playing against scaled down 197 players then they can stay happy.

Bgs are the lfr of pvp and rarely do I see people asking for mythic raid mechanics in LFR. I think the same logic should apply when considering a 226 player vs a 197 player is a huge advantage for the 226 player.

A grind of BGs > RNG anytime. I’m probably the worst pvper in WoW and getting to 197 with covenant + BG is still gonna be faster than covenant + WQ/m+2

Once again for the life of me I don’t get how they allow you to post, you are very abusive and condescending. In almost every thread you post all you do is call people “bad” and never offer any alternatives or help.

You told me you aren’t an unhappy person, but based on your posts (from weeks now) I think you are an unhappy person. If these posts bother you so much then stop posting and reading them!
