18 bots in Steamvault on my server, all 58 boosted

No, what really needs be done is for the Auction House to limit how much any account can put on auction at any given time. That, plus make a level requirement for posting higher tier gear, materials, and other items so that people can’t just hide behind level 1 bank alts all the time.

They shouldn’t, and that’s still true. 3x bots flyhacking in Steamvaults > 1 bot flyhacking in Steamvaults.

Also, don’t let the benefit of posterity inflate your sense of self-worth. Nobody was arguing “botters will buy the boost to abuse flyhacks to farm nodes in instanced areas”.

If Blizzard actually moderated their game and DC’d/banned bots, it wouldn’t be a problem.

Just sitting invisible in front of the portal would let you DC innumerable bots.

I didn’t even need to click to know what it was gonna be. A classic that one.

They do this. Often.

What Blizzard can’t seem to stop is players constantly buying gold.

Problem is bots are tied to players who buy gold so bot banning is no incentive to stop botting anymore than arresting drug-runners is going to stop people from buying drugs.

The only way to solve this would be to, somehow, stop players from buying gold.

Players have no incentive not to buy gold, however. They are given no incentive. In all reality the fact that retail has the WoW Token in addition to China’s Classic servers shows that Blizzard is actually okay with RMT in principle.

While I know what Blizzard’s policy on gold-buying is, I don’t not how strictly they enforce their rules about it. All I need to do is go to the AH and see outrageous prices and I know that’s not happening organically.

I saw this thread and logged in to take a peak just for kicks. I saw what appeared to be 6 legit groups. Then there was one extra which was a level 58 Mage.

You would think, after 15 years of the same issue, they would have developed better systems to track who is buying gold and ban them along with the gold sellers.

I know it happens at a small scale, and there were even automated systems that they tried to implement in Classic that failed.

It is true, though, you need to ban the gold buyers to discourage it way more than the gold sellers.

The gold sellers make enough money to not worry about making a new account - they are not emotionally attached to their character. Gold buyers would feel a pretty bitter sting if they just dropped hundreds on gold and got a character they’ve dumped a years worth of time into banned.

I think one of the big issues is that the economy is so saturated from their lack of response to bots that it is impossible to tell who is guilty of buying gold and who is just doing something like profiting off a GDKP.

This is ridiculous!

I was told by several youtube videos they would be in blackrock mountain doing a pickpocket farm! That’s not SV at all!

The constant stream of bots that never end and are doing it for way too long suggests otherwise. I’ve made note of bot names and checked up on them, and they can go weeks of literally piloting in and out and flyhacking without being banned. That’s an immense amount of damage done to the economy, and plenty of time for a single human being given GM status to moderate it - but they don’t. They simply don’t appear in game and the majority of the GM staff are powerless, outsourced, and don’t communicate with each other.

Gold buying is another problem, but attacking the source would do better than a ban wave every 3-4 months conveniently after a quarterly.

More than 130 replies and no one corrected you. Good lord people are REALLY toxic nowadays. they make fun of you for making a mistake but they cannot help you with the correct word? like oh my god.

The plural of Child is Children, some words change and adding the S only doesnt work.
Idk, english grammar lol

No, it suggests that the problem is larger than the team made to handle it.

I just did a /who for Steamvaults. Top of the list are 4 level 58 Mages whose names start with the letter “w”.

Let me know your theories on what 4 level 58 Mages, each of whose name starts with a “w” are doing in a level 68-70 dungeon.

Didn’t you hear? Blizzard just randomly closes accounts now why out sending an email telling you why.

Anyone who thinks bots are the saviors of the AH needs to get their head checked.

Well as someone who likes cheap items and has no desire to farm this is ideal. The only more ideal situation would be unlimited paid boosts and the token for gold to guarantee my farm time can = 0

Seems to be working because the West’s economy is on importing cheap goods and labor. Farmers keep the prices down, if they’re dungeon farming they’re not competing with anyone in world.

I’ll take cheap bot goods over gathering cartels sitting on herbs and ore and driving up prices while y’all use your AH bot programs to artificially increase the price.

You’re right, what was I thinking. Exporting our production overseas has been great.

Also, bots are super.

Already announced a couple of measures coming soon.

Reducing Ore/Herb nodes and increasing the respawn timers on them
Adding a 30 min cooldown after each node to gathering professions so players cant endlessly overfarm (and bots)

Not sure why people keep saying nothing is being done.

I have heard this several times and have seen nothing from Blizzard. I search and came up empty handed.

Also when people are starving how is it a good idea to reduce the food they’re getting?

Who exactly is starving? We are talking about a game here and combatting bots…
