my launcher just started downloading future patch & game data its saying 16gb’s worth, is that correct ? 16gb’s is not a patch that is expansion size
Well they did say they were going to fix a LOT of things with this patch.
well there goes this months bandwidth for me and havnt even played best timing way to ruin xmas blizzfail. why pay a sub for updates and not be able to play another sub lost blizz who eva is making the decisions at h.q is surely on drugs. guess time to try fallout & battlefield wonder if u guys will make it through another year good luck u need it
My 1 megabit/s (aka 150 kilobytes/s) connection means it takes me 2 hours to download 1 gigabyte. 16 gigs would be 32 hours of download time. And that’s at full speed, so everyone else plugged into the router would be lagging. Glad they added the option to throttle the download. Should be done downloading in a couple of weeks.
You should look into purchasing better internet. Even at the lowest internet in Canada or the US, it does not take that long to download anything ever.
Something not right bfa the expansion is about 13 gigs. When I had to reinstall the game last week it was like 56 gigs.
So you’re telling me one patch is about 1/3 the size of all of World of Warcraft…
It’s not Blizzard’s fault that you have potato data plans, bros
People still have bandwidth caps? I’ve never had that.
Honest question, where do you live?
Wonder if they will push a clean up patch after they early download goes live to clean off trash no longer needed?
Doesn’t really matter to me.
Perhaps a lot has to do with adapting it to take advantage of multi threading?
Let me guess either you live in United States or Canada?
Cuz I have friends that lives in other parts of the world and yeah they have bandwidth caps…
I sort of have a bandwidth cap I use my phone as a hotspot connect to Wow and play games an over-the-road truck driver.
But when I’m home I do enjoy one gigabyte fiber…
Mmhmm. Ohio. I never really looked into such things since I never had to concern myself with it.
Fallout 76 had two, 50 gig patches, two days in a row. 16 gig is nothing.
With the fairies. Kids these days, play the blame game to the max.
Its all the horde sides extra zuldazar raid voice overs and prerendered cutscenes.
(I’m just teasing, but… its not completely out of the question that the bulk of it is audio and video for both sides for the upcoming raid, invasions, warfront etc etc)
That’s discussing. 100 gig in two days? I would send that company my internet bill the next day.
Your crying about a 16g download. You do realize that all of the recent triple a consolgames have 16g-100g+ worth of day one downloads right? Are you going to blame blizzard for that too?
I mean quit if your unsatisfied with the game, but don’t go blaming blizzard because you can’t handle a 16g download…
Yeah, that is the first thing I’d move for.
I’m spoiled, being here in Omaha Nebraska with Cox Internet. We’ve had high speed here since the 90’s, with no data limit until recently (which is insanely generous too, I’ve never gone event remotely over the limit, in a month.)
Under Cox’s expanding rules, customers who use more than 1 terabyte of data in a single month must pay an additional $10 for every 50 gigabytes they go over the limit. The 1 TB limit is enough to watch 140 two-hour high-definition movies or stream 30,000 songs , Cox says, and only 2% of customers exceed the limit.Jun 28, 2017
Also, it isn’t even active sometimes. During insane usage months, where I may have been “rather naughty” with media file downloading, I’ve maybe approached half.
They also have a slightly higher priced totally unlimited, but since I’m never close I don’t bother.
Interesting enough, my ISP used to host WoW and other game patches on there own server. So they could offer them off the data cap there customers had, it also helped since we could get them direct and it offer the best speeds.
But i do not think WoW or many games offer patches like that anymore which does limit options
