I remember doing this when it was the enchanter one for dust… It was cheaper to sell them than worry about the Kp. It’s like Blizzard doesn’t learn, or rather, they don’t care and just press “release” on anything.
How do you not have null stones?
I mine every single node I come across, I’ve got plenty of them sitting in my bank in case I need them to craft something.
I go through them like water crafting weapons for my alt army. In my experience, even if I had gone all in on the left tree and every null stone I mined was a full stone… it would be faster and easier to get them from snuffling. I just did 45min of straight mining in Hallowfall before the maintenance and didn’t get a single one.
Mate, I’m skipping this weeks mining weekly. That is way too much gold that I can make with those mats for 2 lousy knowledge points. I can get those points via just mining.
Not worth it.
make some rank 4 epic items: reward
10 acuity.
I had THREE Of those orders up all week.
I mean… half of my blacksmithing patron requests that actually give acuity and knowledge want me to be providing large amounts of sanctified Alloys…
I think one of those patron missions to get some acuity or knowledge would probably cost me 30k gold.
For a 60 gold commision.
You can do 100k/hr with dual gathering, just farm it.
What I got from this thread:
1> The mining quest … is asking you to turn in something … you get from mining. Ok, moving on…
2> I guess the TikTok-mentality level of complaint is that there is an intrinsic value of 5-7k and “that’s too high for KP” … when there are single WQs that reward 7-900g???
Another one of these GenDiscussion threads I should have just avoided …
…and the knowledge points. It baffles me that people judge the value of a patron order simply by the gold commission they get. The commission isn’t the point of these things. Making money from patron orders isn’t really the point either. The main purpose is for getting knowledge. Anything beyond that is secondary.
If you want free knowledge points, you’re free to keep fishing just for the occasional order that has all mats provided but that’s not really engaging fully with the system.
Currently I would be giving up 17k+ gold to turn in those 2 Null stones.
Yes some WQs give ~800g but there isnt that many of them.
Ya, assuming it offers knowledge points, not all of them do.
And the ones that do offer 1-2 knoweldge points.
Wow, spending tens of thosuands of gold for 1 knowledge point is suuuper fun.
Yet the Skyriding bags are still using the post-nerf Dragonflight values
And in any other example, can you buy KP?
No.
So in this example, you can buy KP! Two for ~17k g (although I believe that number is much lower now; that value feels a week old)
Almost all of us are familiar with the Patron orders asking for 100k in mats, in which we all laughed and walked away.
Same thing here. If you think it’s “too expensive” for this unique opportunity to just straight up BUY KPs… then don’t do it.
Just imagine how many people would be ONE HUNDRED PERCENT MAXED OUT if they could just BUY Knowledge Points! lol
Here’s your chance to buy 2 and … people are balking at 10k? 20k? If there was even A BIT of truth for how devastating this is … you’d simply mine for another hour and recover that cost twice over!! lol
Obvious dramatic reaction is obvious. 10k gold in modern WoW is like a buck. It’s trivial.
Did you trying… mining it yourself? That IS an option!
This daily quest is insane, expansive, and down right an insult to the players. Null Stones are far to valuable to just give away for a quest, even more so for a quest which only rewards you 3 skill points. Null Stones are currently valued at 7k each and this daily quest wants two.
Please Blizzard, get rid of this daily quest or remove Null Stones as a requirement.
The alternative to spending 15k gold is mining for 2-5 hours, depending on luck and skill. This seems overly burdensome for a weekly knowledge quest.
Personally, I am just skipping it even though I have the null stones to complete it on one miner. Those stones are more valuable elsewhere in crafting.
I’ll do it for 9k. Try’n beat that.
You can make 15k in <1hr with mining alone
Its still too much for a weekly
The crafting professions seem to have gotten screwed. Its pay for knowledge points.
I dont like the profession system now, they tried there hardest to copy final fantasy and just failed big time. Its not rewarding or fun.
They should have just copied exactly from final fantasy instead of this.
Its like they just copy and pasted and didnt put anything into it, fishing is a good example of how little energy they put into anything.
