15,000 gold to do the weekly mining knowledge quest?

I wanted a recarft some guy wanted 30k, not sure if the price is high or is that normal

Everyone I know said no way… It is 3 points lost. I mean the game has catch up mechanics so will just earn those 3 points back in the world over time. This is an ongoing issue with most of the systems. Especially the Patron order system. More and more I just keep saying NO WAY!. Your going to give my 64 gold for 40k gold worth or more of my matts? LMAO!

I really have no idea what their thinking was. Even with actual people we ask for most if not all the matts for the best craft.

Did you all know you can buy points for your mining and engi even too…low and behold I found this today cause again I screwed up where to put points for mining to stay mounted again and since they bloody won’t allow one dang reset I found this a bit ago… Rakka sells A Rocky Start A Rocky Start for 565 Kej - that gives you 10 mining knowledge points.

You can also buy 3x15 knowledge from Lyrendal for 200, 300 and 400 Artisan’s Acuity (you get some back when you use the item).

Also the Renown vendors sell certain books for certain professions that give 10 KP.

And you get 5 Acuity for each KP gained so the books are in effect free.

If you think it’d be a profitable investment then do, otherwise…don’t? :dracthyr_a1: There seem to be a lot of people filling out the tree for the sake of filling it rather than having any use in mind.

It was definitely a lazy copy pasta.

Hopefully when we have a new dev in charge of professions they can fix this mess. Current one is just apathetic toward their job.

:surfing_man: :surfing_woman:

Would he a shame if you could go out and…you know…gather it for free

I’m half this, half I enjoy making stuff for guildies, the gold is meaningless to me.

as an omnicrafter in ff i don’t see how they
copied them minus the half a class outfits lol
it’s acutally easier to deal with crafting over there and it’s still annoying lol

I encountered this a lot on the forums in Dragonflight from people obsessed with getting their skill to 100, while they had no interest whatsoever in knowledge points.

They just HAD to fill that bar to 100. They HAD to.

“Whatever for?” I would ask.

They HAD to fill it to 100. I just didn’t understand. They HAD to.

It’s a mining quest. You’re supposed to mine them. If you were actually working on the profession and cared you’d have plenty of them in your bag.

“Hey, let’s make Warbands so that the game is more alt-friendly!”

“Great idea! Should we overhaul the profession system as well so that they can self-gear their alts?”

“Nonsense! This crafting system is the best part of the plan! It’ll take them WEEKS just to get to a point where they can craft even the most basic gear for their alts and-”

“And by then we’ll have all their doubloons! Genius!”

I skipped the first few weeks because resource prices were so high but I just started looking into the weekly quests this week and, compared to DF, they’re all so much more expensive to do. I did the DF profession weeklies the entire expansion and kinda regret it.

I honestly think I’m going to completely check out of TWW professions and I’ll just go back at some point to get various achievements.

I don’t like the profession knowledge system, as implemented, at all. I much prefer the Legion/BFA profesion model. Not because you had to do raids or dungeons necessarily, but just that better recipe versions made things cheaper to produce and that’s it. The time and gold investment to max out a profession now is an order of magnitude worse.

Wtf are you talking about? You can sell them for 6.5k. Are items in your inventory somehow not worth anything? There’s literally no difference between buying them on the AH and using the ones you already have. You’re still spending 15k.

Unfortunately players have come to be they want the quest done right now that min they take it…instead of going out in the world and just getting the stuff as time goes by…that is blizzard fault from DF where those weekly were that way if you kept a specific amount of ore in your bags after sending out most to sell or use…then when the weekly came up you could get it done in 2 secs cause you had the ore in your bags…

The Profession system is absolute garbage. They need to scrap this new profession system.

I mean, someone designed a racial to where a race can’t eat and has no way to recover health/mana outside of combat, making them non-viable as anything but a mage. That says pretty loudly “I’ve never played the game, not even for 5 minutes in a lowbie starting zone”.

Yes it was hotfixed and given a racial “contemplation” ability that’s the same as eating. But my question isn’t “how did this make it out of beta”, but “how did this even make it past the concept phase? It shouldn’t have even gone into alpha like this.”

Just as a look from other professions, I have at least two cauldron patron work orders a week and they want three star. Oh and the best part, they don’t even give an alchemy skill up just 10 artisan currency.

I know. And it’s sad.

I wanted to love TWW so much. Especially with delves and them FINALLY adding good solo progression content but the insane grindy-ness of professions (as someone who loves to craft) just left such a bad taste in my mouth that it’s soured everything for me.

It almost feels like, how addicted do they think I am that I would just go along with this instead of losing interest? Or was I supposed to buy a token? Cause I’m not doing that either… :woman_shrugging:
