I think in many ways M+ is better as is. I don’t think it needs to have mythic gear dropping. I think some people argued that there should be another reward other than the title after +10 like a mount for timing all +12s or +14s in term of score which I think could be something but gear-wise? I don’t think it needs it.
We saw with this season the response people had if you pushed rewards in harder levels of M+, I don’t think pushing that more is the answer. This season will probably be in the top for nerfs overall even if no huge % nerf was done. The affix buff and the timer nerf of 90s are really really huge.
I think scaling down people in M+ to max hero track is the answer, as then you don’t really need that mythic gear slow grind which a lot of M+ players seem to dislike. You can simply do the dungeons and gear up and at best you’d want to do the raid on heroic if you want raid gear instead of feeling that your M+ bis are locked being mythic raids.
No because people cried and got tier 8’s nerfed into being so easy my below 560 toons solo them. People would cry for tier 11 to be nerfed to nothing too
I’ve said more than once that the only reason m+ loot stops scaling is because raid is sacred. Were it its own game, m+ would keep scaling, and dungeons would outpace how loot scales so there’s still a cap.
I’d settle for the vault having a way to target a slot for a drop type. 1 target per row completed. Incentivizes people to actually do all the content if they are wanting to get a chance. Still randomize the table for anything in the drop pool for that slot, can’t double up on slot type (no 3x belt/ring rolls every week), that sort of thing.
Still means you’d be fighting RNG to give you the one you want, but at least you can guarantee it’s of that slot. Trims down the drop table, and rewards people for doing content. And for catalyst items, which are fairly limited early, you’d still be making choices on how to piece-part that out for non-tier set stuff.
This way, people have to ability to actually target their gear a bit 1 time a week for that upgrade, and can still get kicked in the teeth if they decide to give you the same belt that has bad stats 4 times in a row.
It’s really not though lol. Currently, half the specs are seeing better gains from crafting their weapons, and trinkets still require you having killed the boss for raid for them to be on the table, and you’d be getting 1 chance to roll on the table of like 5-7 of them a week.
Odds are, at those rates, if it’s not dropping in raid, you’d still not see it in vault. At least at that point, people would have a chance.
You’re sorely overestimating the percentage of that actually paying out. Limited to one chance at “a weapon” a week, you’re fighting like 4-5 pieces in that slot, or more for dungeons. It’s 1 piece as well. Not infinitely farmable. That piece can still drop naturally from those tables. You’re just trimming some of the fat for the option. And as it sits, people getting lucky as heck every vault aren’t breaking the game. So, no, it’s not “too powerful”.
