1.12 AV is a huge, huge mistake

I think its an attempt to get classic only players to log into retail.

Nope. Actually, not at all. Doesn’t matter which side he’s on, and I don’t care to know - as long as the people he’s talking about are actually engaged in that sort of toxic “debate”, then calling it out fosters a healthy discussion. If you think calling people on their BS is BS as well, you might need to reevaluate some stuff.

No thanks, I played the 12 hour version of AV and they sucked. Getting in and getting squat for honor multiple run backs to the main base to turn in only to /afk after a few hours of accomplishing nothing. I’d rather be able to get in spend 20-60 mins, have some fun and call it day.

They are recreating a mediocre classic experience on purpose.

Appropriate patch with each phase was the correct solution.

Has anyone considered that in classic mount cost is the big expense, yet they want to give the most easy route to an elite mount via nerfed AV?

The latest AV was certainly the blandest and most generic feeling of all and the closest to retail, and it barely sneaked into vanilla.
Sure they want to be consistent with the patches but this ain’t it chief if you you want true vanilla then make it a progression like PVE too.
Most of my days in AV where in the older versions, most time in the last version was during the pre TBC era.

No it didn’t. The last major changes to AV in vanilla happened in 1.11 not 1.12 and lasted longer than the original version of AV lasted.

i don’t play the AV for honor farming i play AV because i enjoy 40vs40 modes that can last a while and feel like a real battle

I support the 1.12 AV. I don’t want to waste an entire day playing a single game of AV just to accomplish nothing. I wouldn’t even bother with it if that were the case, as would the vast majority of players. Those extra long AV games were fun only the first time until people realized just how crappy of an experience they were.

you do see the hundres posting FOR the long av’s while theres only a few for the short av right? so you cannot say “the majority want the short ones” when there are countless of posts , forum posts , polls , and so on requesting for the longer, better, old school av’s to be put in , and no this Retail lookalike without reinforcements.

It’s more like less than a hundred that are posting with the repeat posts, compared to how many people are playing classic that’s not many people at all. You’re just part of a vocal minority.

or we’re the ones willing to come to the forums? Ii’ve asked and most people do not want the Retail version of AV without reinforcements. they want what they remembered. LONG AV’S the ones that took skill to win , not a zerg to win. and this is coming from horde , who have a huge disadvantage in oldschool av

Playing classic and not posting on the forum is not evidence of a majority wanting 1.12 AV. 1.12 AV is closer to current retail AV than it is 1.7 AV, when all the BG elements existed and were not nerfed.

and hell , RETAIL is getting 1.7 for the “15 year anniversary” event , if it can and is being done"

Did you play AV before 1.12 and then after?

You’d fully understand if you were an AV fan in 2005 and then saw what happened to it between then and 2006.
