No fire resistance gear and no AV is really disappointing…

This is where I think people mistake their expectations. I don’t mind, personally, but empathize with those who don’t quite see your point.
I played both Legacy Rift and LOTRO launches heavily and the parallels in WoW are because of keeping the modern client.
yea the pre1.12 AV had so much going on that the vast majority never even paid attention to. most just went to slaughter in fos. a few knew about the IBS korrak kill quest chain. a few more knew about goats/wolves for charges. a few more knew about summoning the massive bosses. even fewer knew about the goblin mechs for breaking enemy lines. how you needed rogues to remove traps that prevented riding into the enemy base ignoring archers. how the all seeing eye was a hilarious quest.
took a while (read: week straight of playing it) to learn and have the rep for all the mechanics but yea we figured them out. having to go in, get rep, come out for quest, and go back in was annoying but at that point it was still the same AV from the start which was crazy.

should be two queues. one for classic AV pre1.12 and 1.12. simple to let the people choose. pre1.12 should be worth way more honor due to the difficulty/time required vs zerg mode tho

The hope is that the 15th anniversary version that they are presently developing is early AV, and that they use it for classic rather than the most watered down, nerfed version.

I disagree. Those that prefer a watered down nerfed race already can choose to play AV in BFA. Classic should have AV that represents the closest iteration to it’s original intent, with all of it’s original content.

Agreed. You also can’t give people a choice because they’ll always pick the path of least resistance which is the rush rush gogo 1.12 version.

Yep, and Blizzard already handed a ton of the easier late vanilla aspects to those who want easy mode.

Careful now, people will tell you that it is NOT identical to AV in retail. However, 1.12 AV is vastly more similar to retail AV than it is to 1.7 AV. I suspect that the AV they are developing for the 15th anniversary for retail is more like 1.7 than it is like 1.12. We need to push that they use the early version for classic rather than 1.12.

yea well no arguments here. i want the WSG to only reward winning but they implemented marks for losers to get welfare too. isn’t going to happen.
i said make two queues and make the rewards commensurate with actually playing them. meaning the zerg form of AV should net very little as compared to the real AV.
make the zerg AV only grant kill honor and diminish it. the real AV can have win, reputation and vendor rewards. seems simple enough
I had good fun in the early days of AV, can remember one battle that lasted 4 days. I think the WoW Classic community wants and deserves this experience.

give us the pre nerf AV. That is one of the most memorable experiences I had in classic, and it would be a shame to just turn it into a mode where the zergs pass each other and never fight

long story short, the want classic to be as much like retail a possible so people play retail aswell. my interest in the game is already slowing. the changed too much.

They seem to be catering still to the nubs that ruined retail in the first place.
I almost think they want this to fail because it’d prove them right instead of taking the redo for the massive chance it is.
I mean, double classics original launch numbers, still server ques of hours, and still people begging for them not to give us watered down classic but the real deal… and they’re still trying to do it anyways.
At some point they’ve gotta figure out that their idea of what we want and ours are two entirely different things.

I don’t disagree but I don’t think they can give us 1.12 version of game but 1.0 version of AV. That would mean then could pick and choose what version of things from various patches.
Even if I prefer older AV, I don’t see how this works.

I beta tested the 1.12 version over the summer and honestly didn’t like it. I much prefer the NPC filled version. It let me do PVE and contribute to the fight (because I’m terrible at PVP).
