“mutually ignoring each other = dancing”
lol passive aggressively quoting without actually quoting in " " is the new cool
Passive aggressively arguing for a worse iteration of a game because of sour grapes is the new cool.
Opinions are like…
I didn’t even think for a moment the classic AV would not be the actual classic AV. If it does not closely resemble the matches I could spend a whole day in or rejoin the next day I’ll be sad.
please give us 1.5 AV not 1.12 in classic
I really didn’t want you compare both versions when answering that.
When looking at 1.12 by itself, assuming there was no 1.5 version.
Does anybody think the community past or present would think a BG where the objective is to kill the opposing faction boss in under 10 minutes fun or even interesting.
Let’s suppose even there was no AV and this 1.12 AV was a new BG no one has seen before. What do you think the reaction would be.
“So we just race to the end and that’s it?, Oh we have to kill the boss ok, oh and 1 side has a serious geographic disadvantage. Oh, uh is it not finished, what’s the point of this BG?”
I do realize I’m being sightly hyperbolic.
My point is that because the 1.12 AV is limited in scope and has a negative efficiency impact for ranking and honor. Blizzard could omit AV entirely and it wouldn’t make a difference.
But the objective of AV is not to kill the enemy general in 10 minutes or less, it’s just to kill the enemy general. Once again we’re talking pre reinforcements here.
How is it limited in scope? The objective is exactly the same in 1.12 as it was in 1.5. Reinforcements added an objective as a win condition and that’s what broke AV. Do you consider WSG or AB a waste of space as well just because they can also be won quickly if one side let’s it happen?
Every time you argue that changes made from 1.5 to 1.12 increased the amount of PVP in AV it exposes just how little credibility you have.
1.12 AV is the worst version.
Lets be real here. The reason Blizzard went for a faster AV was because of all of the complaining about wait times from people that rolled on the more populated factions. A faster AV forced the other faction to re-que more often and that allowed more from the more populated faction a chance to get in.
He means well.
This is alot of “My version of Classic WoW is better and more authentic than yours” Lots of people played back then, I did, though not as much as I did in BC (BC imo is superior to Vanilla, ANY day Fighting words…sorry). And Each players version of Vanilla is going to be different. We need to stop arguing whats better and just come together and celebrate that we are getting the flavour back and allow compromises.
I don’t know what version of AV is “better” but I definitely have fond memories of the long AV’s of my rank 14 grind. I wish we had it even for a brief period in Classic.
I would also like to see an older version of AV with the long drawn out fighting that was classic AV.
I hope this post gets a lot more likes.
Why do we need to do that? Many of us fought for over a decade for this project to happen, why do we “need” to be accepting of the least effort put in to the most watered down versions of it’s various elements? We saw guys in their basement putting in more passion and effort in than I am seeing from the billion dollar company, the ones who will be making vast amounts of money from the project.
If classic is to be in a perpetual state, why should we compromise and be accepting of a disposable version of one of the most asked for elements (polls and threads)? We shouldn’t.
Make Azeroth Great Again. Give us a battleground worth participating in. Not the one that is just a race.
Right since this is going to be the state of AV that lasts for forever in classic why would they use the version of AV that was so bad they had to change it just about every major patch before landing on 1.11? The version that ended up being the most stable until reinforcements.
Blizzard: We are using patch 1.12 for Classic Wow
Everyone: Ok!
Blizzard: This includes AV
Everyone: Shock
Give me a break.
