You really shouldn’t. There are like 15 people and their alts being loud about this. And half of them have said they won’t play if Blizz goes with 1.12 AV.

It really is a waste of time.

They will get lynched harder for saying a poor design was intentional than them saying they actually can’t do it. Also why would they be shy to say what data they didn’t have if they spelled it out so clearly at blizzcon as you say? Which is it?

It’s not like I don’t even want 1.5 AV, either. I’d love it if 1.5 AV made the cut. I just don’t think it can, and I don’t trust Blizzard’s “We thought it was the best version” when they already explained at BlizzCon that their patching process prior to TBC led to irretrievable data loss.

You haven’t been on these forums very often, then. Blizzard get called out and accused of things no matter what they say or do. Sometimes justifiably, other times not so much, but that’s just the nature of the community.

They would EASILY get called liars for saying they didn’t have the data anymore, especially since most of the people on this forum didn’t even watch the BlizzCon panel and would assume they’re just being lazy. That’s the norm around here. Hell that’s even the norm in General Discussion.

Distrust is severely high and saying “we don’t have the data anymore” is like saying “the dog ate my homework.” Even if it was true, the teacher would think you’re full of crap.

I trust the Classic devs more than the BFA ones, but the whole “We think this is the best version of AV” statement and what they explained to us at BlizzCon, just don’t add up. I’m more inclined to believe they’re trying to save face while simultaneously telling us we’re stuck with 1.12. Problem is, it’s not really doing so well is it?

I agree this is a huge mistake. From both a PVP person trying to enjoy the epic that was 1.5 with buzzsaw machines and all to a PVE player who thinks getting an epic ring, dagger, shield or mace in 1 weekend of holiday AV is ludicrous.

AV was hard for a reason.

Seems they got happy customers for the loot trading update.

I doubt very much that they would get called out if they reconsidered the AV version and decided that there would be rppvp servers at launch.

If anyone out there (for some reason) has AV data from earlier patches, please share with Blizzard, so we can get early-version AV!

I know that they only have 1.12 as a working patch, and in order to get pre-1.12 AV, it would be by trying to go back through the patch notes and guessing the details of the changes. I wouldn’t want them to spend a ton of dev time and end up with a un-classic version of AV.

If they do delay the AV battleground in their release schedule long enough (similar to classic release), then maybe PTR’s can run out the kinks if they try to create pre-1.12 AV. I think this is possible, but with so much input from the community, without a strong base patch to work from, it might not be very classic “No Changes”.

Worst-case scenario, it would be amazing for them to make a PTR, that would allow trial play of 1.12, since it has been many years since anyone has truly played AV on a Blizzard 1.12 server. Hopefully it won’t be as zergy as people believe it will be.
