Most of the people I know who are playing AV right now aren’t doing it for fun, they’re grinding honor and say they can’t wait to not have to do AV.
I’ve seen people in /g and the server’s discord who queued for AV out of nostalgia express nothing but disappointment in the match they played. I’ve not actually seen anyone say they liked it unless they were saying how good it was for Honor.
So why are you not sabotaging AV? It’s easy to do, but may take more than one person. Seems there are enough here and on your friends list to easily accomplish that.
I’m not even playing in AV. It was fun because of the big scale battles that happened. Me and two friends can’t make 37 other people fight. We can annoy them by not rushing and doing all those other things, but that’s not going to get me the epic 40v40
The kind where I get to sneak up on that gnome mage on a hilltop who thinks he’s just about to POM pyro some noob from 100 to 0 only to find himself stunlocked from 100 to 0 instead. Or when we finally make it to the ally base and I get clocked by 2 rogues because I’m the only thing keeping the tank alive and now we’ll have to push through the alliance another hour or three to have another shot.
The kind where you fight to the top of a tower only to be thwarted at the last minute, but as you release, you see 5 horde coming in from the rear to reinforce so you run back as far as you can to try and be there for the cap.
The only hope of these things ever happening again is an AV where you cannot rush and side objective matter.
I’ve been running AV just for the fishing and I have seen many runs where they last 20+ mins because the horde can’t help but back-cap graveyards and trim off the back-end of the Alliance short bus, causing a turtle at the beginning.
20 minutes? lol that’s not what I’m talking about. I waited 2 hours in an AV queue one Friday night. Played for 4 hours, went to bed and queued first thing in the morning into the same game. It went on until late Monday night before the horde finally won.
Back in those days, you zone in and the first thing you say in chat was, “how long?”
