11.1 Hunter Changes (MM No Pet - Pack Leader rework)

Such as?

And why cant we have this without a lame bird while retaining the option to summon a pet?

It’s almost like you were provided an example just now.

Why can’t we have what specifically.

Why would you need to use that in an raid? is that rly EXTREMELLY necessary? or you can do fine without it?

the options they are doing

They can, easily, bake that into lone wolf and keep the pet as option.

Yes, it’s fairly important as an example on mythic queen this tier, and mythic tindral last tier.

“Design space” is not an response neither an argument, sorry

If you can do everything without a pet, why people would ask why you are not doing with the pet

And what happen to classes who dont have call, do they reroll?

The standard suggestion on this for years has been to have Lone Wolf give you the passive and active of your last summoned pet, rather than defaulting to stamina/FotB.

Personally while I enjoy the petless playstyle in group content and am excited to test the changes, MM with pet is how I’ve preferred to play this game when questing or doing pretty much any solo content, for nearly 20 years now. Removing that option entirely is very disappointing.

I would have liked to at least test “Lone Wolf MM with Primal Rage and Predator’s Thirst” for M+ or raid, and “Lone Wolf MM with Master’s Call and Pathfinding” for PvP before completely reworking the spec and eliminating even the option of using a pet.

Using that logic, neither is “my personal fantasy of having a regular pet”

They get it from other classes that do, such as hunters or paladins with freedom, being a burden in some respects.

And disc dps in melee range with holy nova spam is how i’ve preferred it on my priest. And yet, i’m not going to be shocked that it’s not necessarily being focused as primary design for it. (Bonus points to holy nova being available as AoE significantly earlier than shadow’s mindsear)

It is, because it is a RPG, ROLEPLAYING game, and that is not the only reason.

Not every class have that, and they manage it, so hunters can as well.

Such an easy fix this would be, but they went with the windowlicker option

“where is this used”
“it is very important on those 2 fairly serious fights”

“I don’t like this reason so, i’m not going to count it”

great job m8

Those classes also get sat unless you have enough hunters or paladins to offset them.

Yea, blizzard also took away my +healing gear increasing my mend pet healing, gonna quit now

Your opinion is flat out wrong and utterly ignorable since you clearly have no idea how things actually work in solo content.

Been able to summon my pet since Legion, so that’s you being wrong again.

Its not rly i dont like, its not mandatory, so goes back to my original point that is only a real issue for M+

Last i check, mend pet still is available, they didn’t remove the option, unlike now

There is a huge difference between “this thing you like is not the main focus of the spec and is suboptimal in competitive content” and “this thing you like does not exist at all anymore.”

One of those encourages me to try a new playstyle. The other encourages me to try new games.

“only a real issue”

No, it’s also a real issue on those 2 fights.

Last i checked +healing gear is not, spec ruined, class ruined, game ruined.

I don’t wish to summon bepples, but this does tend to happen in online games that are over 20 years old now.

Some people really liked exciting gameplay around aspect of viper which is also gone.

Some people liked doing something that had a strong correlation with shooting explosives.

Luckily, as our friends said

And you can now roleplay as a ranged marksmanship hunter who uses a hawk (very common irl)

Or as a hunter who uses 1 or even 2 pets out at the same time.

Waow, changing an entire spec because TWO whole fights, of something isnt mandatory

that’s definitely a choice

Thats rly crap and awful, especially because is forced, and its not rly that common

This is a really bad take - you asked for an example and were given one.

Master’s Call is a generally useful ability in a variety of contexts, raid and open world included.

Hate this so damn much. I dont want some damn eagle flying around, like I didn’t like Sentinel Owl or the sentinel heroic tree. Ive used my pet for 20 years and dont want to be forced to use BM. The spec is boring AF and doesnt give me the game play I enjoy.

Leave my pet/spec alone GDI!

It’s not rly a bad take, i said it only matter for M+, people said it matter for raid, like it was a mandatory choice for the content, but it turns out its not, and its only for two fights

Waow, improving spec that is being used in that way by majority of people playing in majority of PvE content is bad.

At this point there has been plenty of content where the lone wolf situation for MM is detrimental mechanically.

They are solving this.

You also said that it :

Which last i check also doesn’t require a pet.

What I’m not understanding is the idea that one person’s idea of fun has to be outright eliminated, rather than both ideas coexisting.

The problem wasn’t “MM Lone Wolf lacks a distinct identity and feels samey with other specs”. It was “MM Lone Wolf lacks access to core utility that Hunter is balanced around”.
