11.1 Hunter Changes (MM No Pet - Pack Leader rework)

I prefer BM because I play other casters so it’s nice to be able to move around and do damage and not have to stand still to cast something.

The feedback thread is filled with serial complainers that don’t even play hunter and have no idea what they are talking about.

We can play this game too.
The praise comes from serial tourists who don’t even play Marksman but whine until they force their snowflake fantasy alt into existence.

Blanket, unsubstantiated ad hominem doesn’t do your argument any favors. Neither side has a shred of evidence that they are in the majority, and all any of us can do is vouch for our own personally valid opinions.

Maybe I missed it, but the current 11.1 development notes don’t list anything survivability related.

It is huge change, this big of change should have been done at end of expansion. Having it at beginning of season will have one of two outcomes one: It will be way overpowered and mandatory for group comp, or more likely two: It will be hot garbage making many marksman hunters be forced to switch spec or class maybe even just quit.

Not everyone limits themselves to one spec. That’s a pretty uneducated take.

The class discords and people asking for this for years.

The logs showing that the people who don’t take lone wolf are an extreme minority.

The fact MM has been designed around not using a pet since legion.

You can ignore facts all you want. It doesn’t make you any less wrong.

MM has so many tools to keep targets away that it’s insane.

If you can’t use the toolkit and can only play MM with a tank pet maybe open the spell book.

Had. I dunno if you paid any attention, but we’re losing our single biggest asset in keeping targets away.

Condescending nonsense is not an answer.

You mean the easiest one.

You still have
tar trap
Binding shot
Concussive shot
Disengage
Cheetah
Bursting shot.

You have multiple slows gap craters and mobility.

Aimed shot is literally the only ability you can’t move and use at the same time.

It’s called kiting.

Whining over not knowing how to play isn’t my issue.

What we have here is someone who only does group content and it shows.

The blatant, continued fallacy of using numbers to justify sentiment is not an argument.

A thing gaining support because it is powerful and a thing gaining support because it has thematic appeal are two different things. The latter is essential to the identity of the class, but the former is just a tuning knob.

Patch this in:
11.0.9
Marksman pets benefit from an additional 3080% of the Hunter’s attack power.
You’ll see the “optimal” meta flip real fast away from Lone Wolf, and all those logs and discord opinion would flip over.

The spec isn’t designed around Lone Wolf, it is bent around it, convoluted around it, to prop up a playstyle antithesis to the core of the hunter class. What was once a bone to a small minority has grown into a collar to corral a cancerous faction that Blizzard refuses to exorcise; and at last, has completely caved in to their demands.
This won’t solve a thing, it will not be enjoyed for long, it will become the next great festering wound upon which the hunter community will toxically struggle for the next eight years, the same as the last great experiment Blizzard embarked on to please a faction that hates the very class they want to change.

True, but it does seem to be a pretty core aspect of the spec, and therefore I feel it should be customizable. Personally I’m okay with it being an eagle since my character loves birds, but if I was a dark ranger who wanted a bat, for instance, I’d be a bit miffed.

What we have here is someone thats objectivley bad at the game if they dont know how their toolkit works.

That doesnt change anything about the pure fact that MM has been designed as a non pet spec since legion

And it will still suck in AoE.

This is a moronic change and everyone who like are as much moronic, removing the pet maim the spec in PVP and any other content that isnt M+, its just bogus.

They could have simple make lone wolf work like grimoire of sacrifice from warlocks, they chose the godamn worst option.

I would be LESS pissed if they removed the pet period, the fact they are trying to shoehorn this lame bird that sometimes do something is what grind my gears, how facetious and dishonest, like, “we took all your pet, you will use this freaking bird now nd you will godamn like it!”

Its for the surprise of no one Snoozy is being the condescending tw@t that we know and love, heads up: dont engage, he is an elitist FOTM who dont care about things as long his group carry him.

Won’t comment on PvP, but how does it maim spec for raids ?

Raid didn’t care either way cause someone else lust, so its pointless, but hey it maim doing old raids cause i dont have a pet to do what i want.

This decision is entirely focused on M+ whiners.

That is false, since you still suffer from “pet ai” in raids.
There are many fights where if not having to deal with a melee pet that also has travel time is a significant improvement.

In raid you can just take lone wolf and someone else lust, so whats the issue they had?

Still were losing out on some of the utility.

Now you have that utility and actually a bit better things (shorter MD, faster Exhil etc)
while also giving additional effects / design space where you don’t have to go “well, why doesn’t our main pet do it”

(As a recent example, you have to have your pet out to use master’s call)
