Yes there are many ways to get streamline and it seems just by weaving casts of rapid fire, precise shots and lock and load will be equivalent of reducing AS cast time to make it simillar or maybe even shorter than what is now. People are all in pins and needles because for some reason all the MM hunters we NEVER see in instanced content or even in the hub cities with a pet out are crying for the ability to keep it. SMH
Girl, the pet will be invisible and only pop up when marked procs like a trinket or when you use intimidation or master`s call its NOT going to be on your face all the time. Chill. Let them cook its going on a good direction
I don’t like the direction at all. Taking choice away isn’t good game design. This doesn’t add to the hunter class fantasy at all it detracts from it. I hate it.
The only good thing is not having to summon a pet for bloodlust as MM. There a million other ways to do accomplish that that didn’t involve destroying the essence of the hunter class for ALL MM hunters.
That’s funny - when I look at the current MM talent tree I see this thing called “Lone Wolf” that lets you play without a pet. So there is currently a spec where you can play without a pet. Let Blizz work on that and allow both people who want pets and people who do not want pets to keep MM.
I will say I like the changes. MM using a Eagle Eye of sorts to help it hunt and fight, SV moving more toward a Rexxar-style play. BM getting some things that has been brought up before.
I also like the changes to Pack Leader. As with everything, I am sure there will be 100 changes from now to live, so hit the PTR and let’s get to work.
forums are a very small loud minority of players and shouldnt be taken as a representation of the player base.
Just like how everybody on the forums was happy with the survival rework in legion beta on the forums and then it came out and literally nobody played it and it stayed as the least popular spec for nearly 10 years.
Let the numbers speak for themselves. Right now MM hunter is super unpopular as a spec. If this change is negative we would see that number go down even more but i find that hard to believe.
The eagle is just a spell effect, i think people are confusing it with an actual pet.
They already have the ability to pull our own pets from our stable. Theres an ability in Pack Leader that does just that right now as well as things like Intimidation when you don’t use a pet.
Removing MM’s choice to have or not have their pets is a bad choice.
I don’t mind them giving a good reason not to use it but removing it is the issue. We should still have the choice.
See above.
That’s what they said the last time.
I hate BM. I have always hated BM.
I’m heartbroken.
Its also an odd argument…
Could just have a choice in the matter… but this way one group gets messed with over another. Its not like they couldn’t make all of these changes and just leave pets as they are. Just set it so the “eagle” abilities bring the pet from your stable and then send it back like Intimidation does.
I’m still angry about the last time they did this. I don’t think I can go through that again.
This is my stance too. I have played the same hunter with the same pet for over a decade… I hate that I have to consider BM in order to keep playing with her alongside. I hate BM.
I love how most people complaining about this still use lonewolf in raids and are like 600 ilv or not even level 80
Hunter was my first toon back in classic, still play it. And i’ve always preferred marks with a pet (i conveniently ignored lone wolf).
I’ve always enjoyed adventuring with my pet. BM is too zergy for me (there’s a whole bunch of pets that show up who aren’t mine).
So while some of the changes look good, im not enthusiastic about losing my well travelled companion. (Rak’Shiri who has seen the world with me for many years)
I guess to me the class fantasy of the hunter has always been the lone wanderer with their pet (singular) taking well aimed shots from a distance.
Marks has always strayed the closest to the “classic” hunter gameplay, and i’m not sure this change will keep with that.
An Elven ranger. Every other race gets sidelined by Blizzard’s obsession with Hunters needing to have Elf themes.
nu-pl is cool and brings us a really cool traditionally horde-themed hero spec (after dropping the ball hard with blademaster) but the defensive node at the bottom seems bad. like laughably bad. just make den recovery a choice node with it or give it a substantial buff
What theme do you want then? BM and MM and survival cover everything
I mean, just incorporating other options for other races would be nice. Why is it just an eagle? Every race should have their own version at the very least. And not as something they might add later, it’s something they should be working on from the start.
do you mean 6 years lol
No. They are losing a tank pet but you have other tools to keep them away
