Yes, but there are too many talents that directly reference the spotter mechanic. if you have a pet instead of a spotter, none of those function
clearly they are since the community by and large said the pack leader we currently have is the weakest hero tree from a fantasy AND visual standpoint.
And were did the wiki get thier info? Likewise, there apart of a Horde quest in Blade’s Edge Mountains, which means they’re also apart of the lore.
BM already can call their own stabled pets. How interesting would it be for Pack Leader if it did the same? Bears and boars are also iconic pets for Dwarves, so unless they have name plates over their heads they can be any random beasts.
You’d lose that bet, I’ve already stripped and deleted 4 of my variously specced MM hunters because, what would be the point? I’m only keeping two or three total and only because I have so much time and effort invested into them. They’ll mostly be ‘museum pieces’ now.
The old sv i was in control pet had limited but usefull options … traps were fun and i didnt have to load up an aimed shot which made my rotation feel good and i could just run around all the time… bm is too much pet mechanics and bores the hell out of me it just never felt right then or now. I honestly wasnt a big fan of mm and was forced into it… now being forced into bm feels like the survival kill all over again…
Survival is in a decent spot right now and pretty fun. They’ve spent the last couple of patches focusing it on bombs. The more bomb focused the spec is the more popular it tends to be. When it focuses more heavily on melee it tends to be way less popular. Like season one and season four of dragon flight where no one really played it. MM depends on aimed shot and rapid fire. Decent designed spec, it is hampered by it’s aimed shots 2.5 sec cast time to hit like a wet noodle. Half the time you have to stop in the middle of a cast because of mechanics. Unlike a warlock who just tanks mechanics. A hunter just gets Merced. You can see this in the redesign where they are attempting at giving the spec more movement during aimed shot casts. However they also make a backward move in increasing aimed shot to 3secs. Most players don’t want to only cast one thing in a 3 sec interval. Special because of blizzards love of let’s see how many times we can make ranged move mechanics to make things more “balanced with melee”.
In my opinion freedom of movement and ease of use has more of a factor than just numbers. Hence why even when BM is in the toilet it tends to see more play then which ever hunter spec is not flavour of the month. We can see this throughout the game. Frost is always popular accept when it starts to be more focused on glacial spike. Fire hit its peak when it’s focused on free pyro blasts. Sank when they forced you to cast even one pyro blast once and while. Affliction was popular when it was more focused on dots. We can also see spec design play a big part in specs like Arcane that was at points the best theoretical dps mage spec but wasn’t played much due to a complex unintuitive rotation. After the redesign it sees more average play. Even when it’s tuned lower than the other specs. Or feral Druid’s who are perennially close to the bottom due to snap shoting still being part of the spec. Specs that are easy to use and have good rotations tend to be the most popular.
sorry to hear that! it sounds like BM is the ideal spec for you with its freedom of movement and no cast times. maybe there’s something else for you out there.
I mean that’s just how they need to be balanced lol. if all ranged dps had freedom of movement and did equitable damage to melee, you’d never ever need to play melee.
SWTOR for example balances ranged/melee by having melee DPS just always do more damage than ranged. Wonder if people would like that
In M+? And lose dps? No thanks. In M+, MM hunters, if there is no shammy or mage to lust for the group, it’s a hunter’s job, but we take a loss on damage output with the pet out, so it’s summon->lust->dismiss->damage.
Absolutely if you are out & about in the open world, keep your pet out. But for other typed of play like raiding & M+, dps is more important.
You have no idea how this sounds condescending and spiteful. Dude literally said BM is not for him and he doesnt like it
Can people stop telling others to reroll, like they are cracking up the master solution, people are not stupid, they know they can do that, and if they wanted they would be playing that spec already
dude literally said he wants to run around all the time and doesn’t like aimed shot. if you know another hunter spec that’s ranged and doesn’t use aimed shot that has full movement please enlighten me
