I dunno what happened to you, but it’ll be okay. It’s okay to be critical of a system. This system is meant to reward players for playing and staying subscribed. If this is the system they want, it does not feel rewarding in its current form.
I would actually be way more FOR them just adding the items to the game as fun achievements, small questline rewards, world quests, reputation rewards, etc. So please do not assume what is in my head. We all arrive at different conclusions based on different lines of thinking. You really don’t have to white knight for the company or the system. I’m still subscribed, they’re still getting my money, and I still plan to play even with a poorly designed system. Thank you for replying though.

I wouldn’t mind having more ways to earn tender past the monthly reward, too. Like a bonus track or something along those lines, which would give a lot more meaning to the more obscure objectives that usually don’t get completed before the monthly reward is up anyway.

1000 tendy quest pack for $5 you say? Brilliant! Fortnite does this with their battle pass levels: Sells you 200 levels, makes it difficult to reach normally, lets you buy levels through easy to do objectives that are time gated to bring you back every week for four weeks.

LOL yeah, this is why I vehemently oppose the idea of “WoW 2” whenever it’s brought up. OW2 and D4 show that WoW’s age is the only thing keeping them from being really egregious with the MTX (so far). But I do fully expect to see more tenders wrapped up in bundles as a “solution”.
If you honestly believe having a variety of options to choose one (or more depending on how you budget) cosmetic reward/s from, a reward given just for logging in and going about your normal play, is abusive, you do not understand what abuse actually is (although I do hope you never do).
It has been made clear to me that it is a challenge for people on this board to make purposeful choices in this video game (although the why eludes me) but creating a negative scenario around a ‘gift horse’ situation based on faulty logic, greed and/or entitlement does not validate it.
Also it should be noted, I don’t care if they offer more tenders for sale in the gift shop as it is no different from them offering mounts, pets and mog, which they already do. After all, the integrity ship has sailed on that front so they might as well milk the greedy and insatiable and keep my sub cost the same. And, as a bonus, it might even up the quantity of the Trading Post goods, giving me more options. Just as long as I can still get my 1000 tender a month thru logging in and normal play, and the Trading Post costs stay relatively the same, I will be happy.
They are gambling on the community giving in towards tender packages.
The amount of tender doesn’t really bother me. I only buy a handful of smaller things a month most times anyway.
My only complaint is that the surf board mount should have been the monthly reward. When they first announced this feature, they said that those would be things that everyone was going to buy anyway, so that the 1000 tender a month wasn’t always swallowed up by these big-ticket items. Unfortunately, most of them seem like they’ve been battle pets or random toys…the sort of stuff they giveaway as Twitch drops, not something you’d really care about. It’s pretty annoying.

The FOMO mentality is something that many players in this game can not escape and they rage post about that fact to blizz. Is this a generation thing ? Seriously a legit question btw not a snide comment.
My brain just goes ok well I guess I have to earn x to buy y things. And that’s it I never expect or assume to get everything all the time.
In plunderstorm in remix now and since trading post was introduced (last year right?)…people venting hard about its bull poop the related currency costs are too high they have to (my favorite comment btw) “play all day everyday to get everything “ or blizz needs to lower the costs there’s not enough time in the event to get everything!
Then people get upset at saying this (I fully expect rebuttals to this post) and they explain as if to tell others “no your wrong what blizz is doing is not right”
Look any explanation or excuse doesn’t hold water — you and even I (I think the mount costs in remix are too high for what some mounts are for example — but I’m just doing the smh and thinking ok guess I’m not getting that) may actually agree on the currency costs being ridiculous for certain things but it’s meant to be a carrot all this is. The FOMO vibe IS THE POINT. Blizzard knows this.
They want you playing everyday every week every month. It’s money to them directly (subs, tokens, shop purchases and or expansions) or indirectly (marketing —“ come play our popular game blah blah we have x millions monthly constantly playing yadda yadda”
So why would blizz make it quicker or easier for a player that desires all the things!? No they want you taking time to do that!
Not generational, it’s an awareness thing.
First off, if something did ‘happen’ to me, you have no idea if it will be okay or not.
Second off, something doesn’t have to ‘happen’ to a person for them to be able to appreciate a ‘gift horse’, instead of being dissatisfied its not two or three or four horses. It’s called being well-adjusted.
Think about it, if the boutique where you regularly spend money, offered you a choice of several different pieces of costume jewelry in appreciation for your patronage, would you complain that you could not have all of them and criticize the offering because they game you options instead of just selecting for you?
It is if the criticism is based on logic instead of greed and entitlement, sure.
I am very critical of WoW when it comes to their continual removal of role-play features because it is a RP G. (Although, the whole all races/all classes thing has me about to throw in the towel.)
If getting one (or more) free cosmetic gift/s just for logging in and playing normal does not feel satisfying, then I don’t know what to tell you.
Maybe don’t participate.
If I didn’t like the Trading Post, if it make me feel bad or frustrated or whatever, I would ignore it’s existence

i always just get a mount towards the count and if i can afford it the pet to if there is 1. theres no point in freezing anything for me cause i cant afford the 2nd mount this month and what i said before is already on repeat leaving no room to buy anything frozen so no point in freezing things imo

I also find it quite funny that you think this stuff is free. At the end of the day, you have to be subscribed, which in turn, makes nothing free in this game.

OP has a point.
If the month has 2 mounts that cost basically the whole months allowance… and then there’s still 20 cosmetics available.
Maybe the mounts could use a slight adjustment. Even just like -50 or -75 currency, nothing huge.

I disagree.
With so little worth spending it on, I think there’s going to be an issue of to much tender.
Everything comes back at some point. We’re already seeing a ton of items that have been in the TP multiple times.
I buy what I want and for the items I can’t, I don’t worry about it. I catch it when it pops back up.
Playing the long game hoping they decrease costs on the stuff you want?
