The problem is they’re not going for “polish” there’s huge balancing shifts. like they are so not ready it’s ridiculous I don’t understand why they even announced an October date.
Pretty sure they have separate teams for that. They most likely found game breaking bug or something is why they pulled the release candidate.
I want to be out of BFA more than I have EVER wanted to be out of any expansion but if SL is delayed its delayed. I’m not going to cry about it.
Blizzard is in an unwinnable position here. If we pretend activision doesnt exist, a delay wouldnt solve a lot. The game is running on fumes at the moment, and a delay would cause a lot of dropped subs, and many people would not return. Because of the nature of these build around systems they seem so infatuated with they would need to delay by about 6 months to get it right, the game would likely not survive this, not to say it would be taken down, but it would be worse than dropping another bfa at launch but having it mostly ok by 9.1
I hope this is the last time they need to learn this lesson, stop reinventing the wheel.
Nobody asked you to reimagine tier sets, nobody asked you to reimagine alternate progression when you had it nearly perfect in legion. When you get things in a good place that people are generally happy with, leave it be.
and for gods sake, the classes are your biggest priority, I dont care how cool the covenants are, if the class I play is bad, your entire game is bad.
On some level I feel bad for the developers who are likely all in crunch, but on another level I cant help but feel like they brought it on themselves.
I’m fine with that,I rather have a better flowing game than several days of glitching lagfest besides pre patches suck since it places you in next game rules which hinders my mount farming in one expansion past content—like dying in legion raid since new leveling zoning. Save prepatch crap for 7-10 days before release.
jeee whiz delay a patch you get a 300 post thread about it
to be fair, theres not much to do other than post on the forums right now.
And if they did release it early filled with bugs and problems just to get it in the hands of those who are impatient, then there would be a 300 post thread about how Pre-patch is a disaster and somehow Shadowlands is doomed to fail because of it…
Damned if Blizzard does, damned if they don’t.
You really need to play your video game so badly that you need to shout and complain from the mountain tops about a company, consisting of real people with real lives, for delaying something due to a world-wide pandemic?
How very entitled of you.
I think you may need to seek help.
I wish they’d announce a delay soon so I can unsub again until November
They could have announced it much earlier and then delay it. Being so close to release they have more than subscribers to worry about pulling their money if things go bad. Blizz is in good territory with investors right now. That could easily biss off activision lol.
You can tell someone has no idea what they are talking about when the bring up lawsuits on game delay scenarios.
I surely don’t want a delay for selfish reasons. I have already put in for vacation days and it’ll be a waste of a couple of days of vacation days to sit there twiddling my thumbs
“lawsuits” LOL. Man people really do the most on these forums. It just isn’t that serious.
As someone who had to lock in his vacation so he could I take off to play… Imma be extremely upset if they postpone it…
Edit: and let’s get something straight. It doesn’t matter of you postpone it. It’s gonna drop broken and no amount of extended time is gonna solve that while the dev team clutches their pearls like they do.
As said before it’s going to drop with bugs whether it’s released like normal or delayed and ultimately if they delay there will be even more upset from things still being broken.
We’re reaching the point where they need the game to go live so things can be seen to fruition and work out the kinks as we go. As long as nothing game breaking is still happening it’s going to go well.
Plus to give them the benefit of the doubt shadowlands is ambitious and kind of different from the normal. And I’d rather take some buggy content over them scrapping or giving washed up content from what was promised originally (looking at you WoD)
Do i think shadowlands is gonna be the best xpac ever? No, not really. But it’s not going to be bad.
It’s not a matter of game design flaws.
It’s a matter of bugs and stuff just not working as intended.
Look at the current state of the game.
Khadgar is currently dealing with DB rollbacks on a ticket by ticket basis. There doesn’t appear to be an automated fix and even if people get fixed there are some who roll back AGAIN.
The pre-patch is still buggy af on the PTR.
And we all know that once launch occurs, the only bugs that will get addressed are full-stop blockers (ie: no workaround) and anything that breaks Blizzard’s grinding loop.
After launch it’s full steam ahead to 9.1 content patch.
Looks like triple A companies have finally won out. People are so obsessed with getting the product NOW, getting that quick endorphin rush from getting a new product they don’t care how unfinished it is anymore. Will remember to come back to this post a month or so after launch to see the same people flaming the game for its broken state after the newness wears off.
I doubt they’ll announce a delay being this close to launch, but we’ll see.
I mean, 100% sure they do, but you can’t launch a patch with that kind of issue ongoing.
